Steve notified the rest of the team that was in reach that we were ready for them at the compound, so we all joined back up. The ones from space made it back in time to settle in and take a nap while Bruce and Rocket were headed to grab Thor from New Asgard, Tasha would be going after Clint. As much as I wanted to go with her and be there for him, I had my own person to go after: Pietro. I know that he's in Sokovia, as an honor for his sister and family; well, and to help the people. They've had it rough these past couple years. I brought Nica with me because I know it will have somewhat of an effect on him, but she also wanted to meet him and talk to him about Auntie Wanda.

I'm currently holding her hand as we're walking through the streets of Sokovia, looking around and observing the place.

"Mom, where's Uncle Pietro?" Nica said, looking around at the broken buildings and seeing the horror that this city was left in.

"I don't know, but I have a feeling that he's around here somewhere." I say and then I see a blur run through the streets and past me. There was a light touch on my side then on my legs. I got to reach for my weapons, but they're already gone.

I let go of Veronica's hands and stand in an annoyed pose as he stands before me with my glock and knives.

"Can I have those back please." I say and hold out my hand.

"Oh, that's not a way to greet an old friend." He says twirling around one of my knives in his hands.

"Oh forgive me your majesty, but we came here on short notice. If I had known that I would be here sooner, then it might be more formal." I sigh and open my arms for a hug. He returns that action and hands me back my weapons. "But we need your help with something. We're going to try and bring everyone back, those that have dusted, we're going to bring them back." I say and I know he's about to decline it. I see the way his face changes, the way he's thinking about saying no, then it's switched as if he already knows what we are talking about.

"You're going to try and bring her back." It hurts to see the look on his face when he thinks of her. But I know I would have the same expression and response if I had a twin, or if Carol or Nat had dusted away.

"That's the goal. It's going to be a long ride, but we're going to try and bring everyone back. Well, all but her person." I see him nod at me and then take a deep breath.

"Alright... Let's go."

When we get back to the compound people are gathered around in the kitchen and munching on snacks. Nica runs off to hug her moms as Pietro and I walk in slowly, timidly. I know he's not used to being back, it's weird to me to see so many people in the same room, especially these people. It's been a long time since I last saw them all together. It had to be before Germany, before when we were a real team. After Thanos, after Wakanda, we all headed back to take count and name the people who had 'left', if you will, and then we searched for Tony. Of course those three days that I was out, they found him and Carol took care of Nica for us. But after all the immediate business was dealt with, the team started to leave. Pietro left immediately after we did the head count. Thor left after the trip to The Garden. Steve left a couple days later to just get out of our hair and start his little group. The rest of them all cleared out slowly as we settled down and got into a routine that no longer needed the Avengers together, to fight the battles that others couldn't. The two people that left who made an impact on us, on the team were Tony and Pepper. They were out the moment Bruce cleared him. I'm happy for them, that they found some light in all this darkness. Granted I did too, but none of this was expected. How could it be?

This last decade couldn't have been predicted by any one. The Hydra ordeal, Ultron, our mini Civil War, fucking aliens coming back, and people disappearing into thin air. Yes there have been many different dark themes these last years, but I somehow manage to always find the light too.
