My foot taps against the waiting room's marble floors, and my gaze is drawn to the single painting against the wall.

The beach picture.

The seashore.

The walls are a teal grey, and the chairs are comfortable, but comfort is not my priority right now. My main concern right now is how Adonis is doing. His siblings have been called up and are waiting with me, Atlas on one side, Athena on the other and Ares and Alex sat together. Adeline is fast asleep on the chair besides Ares. Artemis walks inside, greeting everyone.

My tears have dried up.

"I can't believe he didn't fucking tell us..." Atlas whispers out in shock, I watch Alex make her way to settle down beside me.

She takes my hands into hers and pushes a lock of my hair to the side, "he's going to be okay..." She squeezes my shoulders, I felt dead inside. Every person I have ever loved gets taken away from me. First Lucy and now Adonis...oh how I deeply whished it would be Maxwell on that death bed.

"He's dead." I look up at Athena.

"Shut your mouth, Athena." Ares growls at her, Athena chuckles and glares at me.

"What? Am I lying? He is as good as dead! She knew and never told any of us! You did this. This is your fault!" She stands up and points into my face, Atlas stands in front of me and pushes Athena to sit back down. "If my brother dies, you are to blame."

This is all my fault.

Maybe me crying and being exhausting made him tired?

"You think Adonis would be happy with the way you're speaking to her." Alexandra shoots out.

"She's not family, what is she even doing here?" Athena slurs out, settling back down onto the chair. She's not wrong though, I am not family. My jaw tightens, I stand up and make my way out of the waiting room. Unable to take the heat from Athena, I know she's angry. I understand her why, that's her brother.

He's-He's...dead...I slide down the walls and settle on the floor.

"Catherine." I look up and see Alexandra, she settles down beside me. My head falls onto her shoulder.

"He-He has a heart failure...he's going to die." I stutter.

"Now, don't say such a thing." She orders me. "Athena has always been like that, she's just stressed. Come on, let's go back in and wait for the doctor-"

"I-I don't feel comfortable, his siblings are there." I point to the waiting room.

"That man is your boyfriend; you are his family."

"I don't even know what we are...I-I can't handle this..." I really could not.

"Catherine, instead of crying. Find a solution. Do something...what would you do? What would Adonis want you to do?"
