Chapter 16:
Justin's P.O.V.:
They were near. I could smell their stench.
I angrily headed out the house's door and into the front lot where Erin stood talking to them.
"Leave now," I said to them.
"Never, we won't leave until the blood of Eve is in our possession."
"Over my dead body," I spoke to his stature.
"That can be arranged," he said with a sneer.
I started moving towards him but Erin held me back. "He's not worth it," she spoke to me.
He returned the glare and it made me even more fed up.
A scream sent the birds flying far away from the trees around the house's diameter.
My head snapped to the house and I ran in at an unnatural speed.
"They're... They're here.." she whispered, her eyes were opened wide and stared vacantly up to the ceiling.
Nick shushed her but her violent shaking did not cease.
"They're... They're going to... take.. take me..." her jaw quivered.
"No. No one's going to take you Alex," Bo said to her.
"They are here. Erin is out on the lot speaking to them. What do we do?" I asked them eager for an answer.
"Leave it to me," Bo said, his face etched with distress and anger.
"You take care of her," I spoke to Nick as he cradled her in his arms.
"No, you take care of her," he said to me," I need to finish the shit someone started."
I didn't want to argue with a pissy werewolf. "Alright," I said to him and traded places with him.
"It's alright Ally," I said trying to calm her.
"No, it's not." She met my gaze.
Her eyes sparkled like amethysts and saphires. It was as if fire burned in this girl's eyes.
"Damn..." I said gazing down at her.
"What?" she said, concern crawled through the fire in her eyes.
"Nothing," I said chuckling.
The sound of yells filled the woodsy air and she shot up and out at the speed of a bullet.
She had never done that before...
I raced outside after her to see a goresome sight.
Blood filled the pine-scented air and drove my senses crazy. Four bodies layed unanimated on the emerald grass.
Bo and Nick stood a good three feet away. "Where's Hansel?" I said to them.
"He escaped," Nick said. Comprehension ringing through his mind.
Alex stood next to Erin breathing hard.
"I... I didn't know I could do that," she said with fear pulling in her tone. She gazed up at me worriedly.
"Neither did I...." I said quietly. I watched as Bo cleaned off his knife as he knelt down to the damp grass to wipe it.
"You need to train," Nick said looking at Alex, "We all need to. It would prepare us all for battle."
"Yeah," Erik said, "I agree," he nodded his head looking at all of our faces.
----{The next morning}---
Alex's P.O.V:
I woke up at the crack of dawn to the scent of a home-cooked breakfast. I was still shooken up by the events that took place yesterday.
Erin had explained to me that they wanted to take me, but why? I wasn't special.
I was no bombshell, I was no glamorous princess. I was a Red.
And apparently, the last of my kind. I got up from my bed and took a luke-warm shower.
I remember the first time I met the boys. When Adam was still alive, when I barely knew Nick, Bo, and Justin.
My life was so typical before I was kidnapped. Sometimes, I lose track. I wake up wondering where Grandmother is.
I don't cry about her anymore. I still feel her around me. Of course I'm tempted to shed a tear, but I know she wouldn't want me to.
After I had showered 'til my heart was content, I dryed off and let my hair dry naturally.
Strangely enough, the dark color was fading back to blonde more and more each day.
My eyes were still the same amethyst colour, they have been since I can remember.
I gazed into the mirror at my pale figure. I never could tan very well, My figurly frame was guarded by a soft fluffy towel, my hair hung loosely almost to my navel.
My amethyst eyes were conflicted with shards of gallium and saphire. They were torn by experience and disaster.
I quickly changed and headed out the door and into the kitchen. Bo was cooking while everyone else cheerfully exchanged small talk around the living room.
I sat down in a deep purple chair completing their social circle. "Winter is almost over," Erik said looking at all of us.
"Yeah just wait, two months of spring and it's back to winter," Erin said with pure sarcasm in her tone.
"Strange, it was never like that before," I piped in.
"That's because things are much different in this realm now," Nick said looking at me.
"What do you mean different?" I asked, raising my brow.
"Look at this place. Things are out of balance now. I mean, take us for example. You have the last of the reds," He pointed at me, "You have an immortal," he stuck a finger at Erin, "Bo's a slayer, Erik is a shape-shifter, Justin is a vampire, and I'm a werewolf! Things are just one big mixing pot now days."
I comprehended what he was saying. He was correct. There were no shadows anymore. There is no flag or nation representing our enemies.
They're our friends, the people we trust. And knowing that would help me out in the very end.
