"Ella! Get the hell out of the damn toilet! I need to piss!" Josh shouted, banging the door to chase her. Guess I wasn't the only one feeling annoyed.
"I'm on my period, asshole! My uterus is shedding and I feel like I'm DYING! So if you don't shut the fuck up I will make sure you will feel the same pain as what I'm experiencing right now, do you understand?!" Ella bellowed.
I groaned at the conversation and buried my face in my pillow to convince myself to fall asleep again. But I couldn't because they wouldn't stop. I clenched one of my fists, and twirled my fingers with my other hand, causing the cigar tray on the desk to float with my command. I am SO going to knock the shit out of those siblings.
I walked towards Josh, who was still banging the freaking door nonstop, and aimed the plate towards him. Before I could throw it to him, a bright blue light appeared in front of me and a raven- haired boy leapt out of it.
Still blinded by the lights, I could only see a shadowed figure running towards me. Before it came crashing into me, he stopped just in time, with only a few inches apart.
Five's eyes were filled with shock at first, but then softened as soon as he looked into my eyes, sending me butterflies in my stomach. I gulped, realising how close we were. The staring continued for a couple seconds, but every second felt like forever.
Eventually, Five broke eye contact and looked up, his eyebrows furrowed. His hand reached behind my head. He grabbed the floating cigar tray right behind me, gave it a little toss, and placed it back on the table. "Calm down" was what he whispered while he walked past me.
"What's that in your hand?" Ella asked. "Map of the ship," Five waved a scroll of paper at us, "Since you douchebags couldn't be more annoying, I might as well do the job," he glared at the Davis siblings. He placed the map on the floor and straightened it, and we all gathered around the map.
"Hey! The sailor should be in there," I pointed at the cockpit in the map, "so if we kill him, no one will be controlling the ship, and it will bump into an iceberg, break the engines, and it'll sink eventually!"
"Woah woah woah, I think we should get the Commission's order first. After all, maybe our mission isn't about causing the Titanic to sink," Josh rejected.
"Since when do you follow the rules?" Ella spat. "Why does every little thing annoy you?!" Josh argued. "Stop it!" Five cut in, "Josh is right for once. We can't just kill who we want. But what we can do is to get the gun ready," he took a gun out of his pocket, and gave it a toss.
"Oh my god! Is that a Glock 43X? I'vealways wanted that! Lemme try," Ella snatched the gun out of Five's hand. "Ella! It's dangerous, put that down!" I yelled. Ella ignored me and ran to grab a wooden board. Then she put it in the distance and aimed it. "Don't shoot!" Five shouted. Ella gave him a mischievous smile, before saying,
"Oops."
She pulled the trigger, and we all covered our ears. Only that, we didn't hear anything. Only clicks. Ella tried again. Click click. Five snatched his gun back and checked it. "Where are all the bullets?" Five mumbled to himself, shaking the gun.
"What are we gonna do now?" I asked. We all looked at Ella. "Don't look at me, I'm not gonna make poison again. Plus, how am I supposed to find herbs on a moving ship?" Ella said.
"Hey um, Mom once taught me how to make a bullet with basic materials..." Josh began. "Good, you finally found yourself useful. you're making some for me," Five stated. "Josh, you make the bullets; Dolores, get yourself sorted and Ella, try to sneak some food in cuz we will only have our salaries in the evening," Five then instructed.
I walked to the lavatory. "Why should I be getting your breakfast? What am I, your maid?!" Ella grumbled, stomping her way out of the door.
"What's her problem?" Five was immensely confused.
"Period," Josh and I answered in unison, while heading our separate ways.
After I got dressed, I got out and saw Josh trying very hard to glue the pieces of miniature materials on scratch. Neither Five nor Ella were in the cabin, so I walked towards him.
"How's progress?" I sat next to him. "Well, I just got all the material I needed, some of them are close enough, but I bet it works just fine. Currently I'm trying to glue this piece together so it's all strong," he held the bullet up and examined it closely with one eye.
"You mind passing the cutter to me please?" He asked. I noticed a cutter in the opened tool box and grabbed it for him. "Thanks," he said while scraping off the excess outer layer.
"Hey um, I have a weird question," he began. "Yeah?" Josh was a little embarrassed but went on,"I know you don't meet a lot of boys through these couple years but I'm just curious: are you single?" I thought it was quite a funny question but answered anyway:
"Yeah Josh, I am."
I smirked at the awkward silence. I know it was pure torture to Josh, but clearly I was enjoying it.
"Uh you know, I'm single too..." he babbled.
"And I'm NOT surprised," I gave him a friendly pat on the head and walked away.
A/N: I have NO idea what to name this chapter so there's that.
I have absolutely NO concept of how much salary is considered a lot in America in 1910s (referring to the previous chapter) but I flipped over a couple pages of a book about the Titanic and things were very expensive back in the old days.
Also I know NOTHING about guns so I just found our saviour Google for help, so don't blame me if the gun I chose isn't a great gun or something.
Thirdly, this is a more casual chapter compared to my previous chapters cuz I've just decided to split my chapter into halves.
So sorry about the late update!
