Chapter 10

Sonic was now back in the cell he had been in before. Since Eggman never expected a thing, Tails was fine. In his status, at least. His heart was quite the opposite. He never thought heartbreak would hurt so much.Tails knew Sonic didn't like him in the first place, but he thought he had changed his mind.

And the begs from Sonic every hour of the day was pissing Tails off. Finally, the daily cries ended.

Sonic: Tails, please!

Tails: DO YOU EVER SHUT UP!?

Sonic was taken aback. Tails had always been visibly annoyed. But he had never yelled. Sonic's ears fell to the sides of his head.

Tails walked away leaving Sonic to his thoughts.

A few minutes later one of Eggman's robots came in to watch the cell. Tails had traded his job.

One week later, a loud clang come from outside of the cell areas, followed by more noises. Sonic looked up tiredly. Despite it being the only noises he had heard that week, he had gotten barely any sleep. He fell asleep immediately, as if the loud clanging soothed him. The robot didn't move, it wasn't programed to. Only to watch. Which is why breaking it was easy. It did send out a signal, however. Red sirens rung all over the base. Sonic was picked up and dashed out of the base. While others ran behind, obviously not as fast. They were calling out to the one carrying Sonic. Sonic was rushed far away into the mushroom wasteland. The base was soon out of sight. A ring opened up and Sonic and his savior crossed over. Sonic was placed on a bean bag in his room where Jojo quickly came to his side.

Jojo: Thank you for bringing him back.

Jojo's voice was quite and breaking. She had been crying all week. Beside Tom's dog, she was the only one conscious. The others were still knocked out from Eggman.

The person standing nodded, and turned around. They walked back through the ring and it closed behind them.

Jojo stood up and left the attic, coming back a few minutes later. She had a ice pack. She put it on Sonic's head.

Jojo: I don't know what to do Sonic... Everyone is gone. I wish I could just go fast and fix everything. Please wake up Sonic. Please.

Jojo left the room. 3 minutes later she came back. She looked different. She wasn't sad. Not happy. Like she was- confused?

Jojo: Where- where did they go... They just... Disappeared? I was waiting up here for an hour since I last checked on them, waiting for Sonic to return... Where are they?

Jojo ran over to Sonic and hugged his unconscious body. Tears flowed from her face.

Jojo: Where did they go...

Sonic's eyes fluttered open. He reached down and hugged her back. Jojo looked up to meet his face. They both smiled for a short time before Sonic became unconscious once again.
