Then he tried to sprint out. But he quickly collapsed onto the floor. Knuckles rushed over as the others followed.

Knuckles: Sonic!?

Sonic: I'm fine, I'm fine.

Knuckles: Then what happened?

Sonic thought. He didn't know. Of course, then it hit him.

Sonic: I forgot. I lost my speed.

Tom: What!? What do you mean lost your speed!?

Sonic: When I was at Eggman's base he stole all my speed. He's going to use it to take over the world probably.

Knuckles: We've got to get it back. He could do bad things with your power.

Sonic: Okay. But I'm just gonna stay here.

Knuckles looked questioningly.

Knuckles: What do you mean?

Sonic: Without my speed I'm useless. Just go and please get me my speed.

Tom: You're not useless Sonic. Come on, we're going together.

Sonic: If you don't let me stay behind when I get my speed I'm going to run away!

Tom: Alright... If you insist.

Everyone left leaving Sonic alone in the baseball field.

Sonic: Did I really just snap at Tom? Wow. I've changed. Maybe Tails doesn't have to change. I think I already changed for him.

As Tails roamed the hallways of Eggman's base, he thought to himself. His mind had been consumed with the blue thief of his heart. He wiped a tear that had fallen from his eye. He rushed quickly to his room and closed the door, collapsing on the floor. Tails clenched his fists.

Tails: Stop! You aren't supposed to still love him! He was just a FAKE!!

Tails stopped and breathed. He stood up, tears beginning to flow from his cheeks. He wiped them all and forced himself to stop.

Tails: It's time for a little visit.

Sonic sat on the baseball field. He sighed.

Sonic: Maybe I should go visit him.

He shook his head.

Sonic: I can't. They'll see me there, and Tails hates me. Why would he love me anyway. I betrayed him.

Sonic stood up. He ran home. His legs got tired, he was out of breath. But he kept running. When he stopped, he only stopped to take a breath and kept going.

Sonic: I'm never going to know if I just keep sitting there on the field.

Agent Stone stood guarding a room. The door was huge, and metal. What was inside no one knew. Only Eggman and his trusty Tails. Not Agent Stone. Tails approached the door.

Tails: Let me in.

Stone: I have strict orders to not let anyone in. That includes you, Tails.

Tails glared at Stone. Stone returned his stare, unfazed. Eventually Tails gave up. Tails jumped up and kicked Stone in the head. Before he blacked out, Tails apologized.

Tails: Sorry.

Stone hit the floor hard. Tails swore he heard a crack.

Tails: Well shit. Oh well.

He leaned down and grabbed a key card from Stone. He slipped it through the sensor. That way, Stone would get in trouble for breaking in, since the cards were assigned to each person specifically.

Tails walked over the tripwire and into the room. It was a long corridor, which reached high into the ceiling. It was so dark, Tails couldn't see five feet in front of him. The corridor was lined with tubes filled with a blue glowing liquid. A few were broken and the glass of the tubes scattered on the floor. Some of them had "things" in them. If was impossible to tell what they were. Wires connected to the backs of them coiled up into the blackness of the ceiling. Tails started quietly making his way to the end. He stopped at the fork at the end. He took a deep breath in and out and went right. The metal floor clanged along as Tails walked. At the end of the hallway, it opened up into another room. In the room was a singular tube, like the ones in the corridor.
