On my way home I stop by Dunkin Donuts and get a coffee, my best friend Parker worked there and on therapy days gives me free coffee. When I walk in, he already has my coffee ready and I am eternally grateful. I take a huge swing of my ice coffee as he laughs.

"What's Wrong Rodriguez? Tough session?" He asks, I chuckle under my breath.

"Basically he came to the conclusion I have daddy issues. Nothing new," I say calmly. This isn't the first shrink I've been too. After the fifth one they're all the same. The worst part is that my last one made me definitely need a shrink.

"You still having nightmares?" He asks.

"Yep, Jack continues to fuck with my life, even after his ass is behind bars." I say somberly. Jack Anderson was my last therapist, I was his patient for two years. When I turned thirteen, he raped and beat me for six months until I finally told my mother what he did. He was taken to jail, but I still fear he'll come back to get me. "I swear I thought I saw him yesterday Park, I don't know."

"It's okay beautiful, just keep your head up." He says kissing my cheek. I smile and hop on the counter, Joan the boss, just chuckles and throws a munchkin at us.

"Thanks superman, I don't know what I'd do without you," I say hugging him. I see a flash and look to see a member of the press taking my picture.

"Hey, what are you doing creep," Parker says yelling at the guy.

"Sorry man, Mike Fuentes' daughter is here, no one's seen her in years. His brother asked me to look for her." My blood runs cold. My phone rings and I look at the Caller I.D. it flashes Hime Time.

"Tell Vic to stop looking for me, I don't wanna see Mike or hear from him okay?" I say as soon as I answer.

"Woah okay? I just called to let you know I listened to your demo, that's some pretty powerful stuff Ron." He says.

"Thanks Hime, I gotta go and tell Uncle Vic what I said please."

"Will do princess, be safe okay? Your grandmother told me to say that," I laugh as Hime says ow as Gram hits him.

"Be safe baby girl, love you. You better come over to see me and your grandfather soon." She says through Hime's phone and I laugh.

"Yes ma'am but don't abuse him and Jaime too much, and give Uncle Vic a solid punch in the arm from me, I love you," I say and hang up.

"You miss them," Park says from behind me.

"I miss something that wasn't meant to last," I say softly and he nods. He comes over and wraps his arms around me, instantly making me feel safe. "How's football goin'," I say as I move his bangs out of his eyes.

"Amazing Ron," he says simply but passionately. "You coming to Saturdays game? Please," he begs and I nod. I smile as he fist pounds me. "Wait around here and I'll drive you home, kay?" I nod and go over and talk to Joan till Parker's shift ends.

When Parker pulls up to my driveway my phone starts to ring, I look down and see Vic's picture covering up my wallpaper. I groan and look to Parker before answering.

"What do you want Vic?" I say.

"Look, you're my niece I haven't seen you in years. I just wanna catch up, I promise your dad won't be in anyway shape or form involved okay?"

I sigh before saying, "On the boarder, 7 pm tomorrow, be there." Before I hang up. I sigh, this should be fun.
