Ronnie's POV
I feel something fuzzy and soft resting against my hand. I open my eyes and right next to me is Summer, snoring like a grizzly bear. I laugh and climb over all the limbs and bodies of my friends and walk to my door. I walk down to Zeke's room and the first thing I see is his big smile. I laugh and pick up my little monster. No matter what happens in my life, good or bad, this little munchkin makes everything better. I can't believe he'll be three next Friday. It seems like just yesterday he was being put in my arms. Jack is going to be here for it as well. I sigh and look down at my little angel. How can he look so much like Jack but nothing like him. As I walk downstairs I hear my mother and Mike talking.
"Do you think she'll want to?" He asks.
"I don't know Michael! She's been through so much, Jack is just one thing, she shouldn't be put through anymore stress-" my mother says before Mike interrupts.
"Exactly my point B! She needs to be let go of all this, and technically we're still married. It's not like we're setting a bad example. Moving in with me would be best for you, Ronnie, and even Zeke." He starts, I gulp and step out and see the scene before me. Mike sees me and his mouth forms an O shape. "Ron-"
"Save it, you're not my Dad, you don't know what's best for me. Everything I know is here, my friends and family. Zeke's other family, hell his father will be here next week. How can you even suggest us picking up and moving to San Diego, everything we're used to is here." I shout at him. I hear Zeke whimper and I huff as I walk out of the room, I rub his back and whisper incoherent words trying to make him feel better.
"Ron, baby girl you have to listen to me," he starts. I clench my jaw and turn around, facing the man that's the cause of all my problems. "Look honey, if you move out you'll be close enough that you and Zeke can visit everyone." He says. All I can do is nod my head, I guess it would be nice. I'd get to see my Uncle and Grandparents more.
"We'll talk later, let's just enjoy today." With that I turn around and walk up to Zeke's room.
~Later that Day~
Being stuck in a car with a broken AC on a ninety-five degree day isn't something I'd recommend. Especially when you have a screaming two year old in the back. I practically scream out when we get to the house. I jump out and get Zeke out of the back. He stops screaming instantly the second the latches of his car seat are undone. I sigh in relief and set him down on the ground and take his small chubby hand in mine and walk to the door. Before I can even knock I'm knocked back by a force only known as my grandmother. I chuckle and hug her back just as tightly, I hear Zeke squeal as Jaime picks him up and spins him around.
"I missed you so much sweetheart," my grandmother says. I feel a wetness on my shoulder and realize she's crying.
"It's okay Nana, don't worry I'll be visiting a lot more now on. Zeke needs to get to know his Great-Nana too," I say smiling knowing she'll instantly perk up at my little boy's name.
"Oh my! Where is he?" She asks as she searches around the house. I chuckle and point towards the yard where Jaime and Vic took him, She just squeals and runs after him. I feel a hand touch my shoulder and I look back to see Mike urging me into the house.
I walk in slowly, letting the memories of my childhood sink in. When I was little Mom and Mike would always bring us here for holidays and birthdays, hell even just to surprise Nana and Pop. Speaking of Pop, where is that old man, I swear he's like a freaking ninja. One minute he's across the room, next thing you know BAM! He's next to you laughing at how much he scares you.
I hear a plate shatter and turn towards the noise. There, for the first time speechless, my Pop. His eyes get wet as tears enter them. "Is that my little Chipmunk?"
I can't help but giggle at the name, "Yes Pop, it's me." I run into his arms and squeeze his frame tight. I miss this, I miss my family. I hear Zeke scream and instantly jump. I race towards the backyard and see him soaked, in the pool, with his new clothes on. A sigh escapes my lips as I roll my eyes.
"Hey Ronnie, get over here!" Mike shouts from the corner. My body becomes tense as I make my way towards him. When I get to him, I notice another figure is there. He's tall, with dark brown eyes and tan skin. His black rimmed glasses and snap back that look too big for his face and head, but oddly it works for him. His arms and neck have tattoos covering them, his ears stretched with tunnels. I've never seen a more beautiful guy. "This is Tony, he's our new Guitarist." I instantly back track.
"Whats up," is all I say. Of course I finally feel an attraction to someone and he's a member of a band, let alone my father's band. This is just great. I look back to Zeke, damn it I knew I should've brought him some spare clothes. "Look Mike, can you watch over Zeke, I gotta go buy him a change of clothes."
"I will on one condition," he says. I sigh and nod for him to continue, "you call me dad, and try to make an effort to forgive me."
"Fine," is all I can say.
"Why don't I go with her, just so she won't be alone," Tony says quietly. I add shy to the list of traits I've made for him.
"Sure, that's a great idea." Mi-Dad says. I nod and motion to my car. This is great, a hot guy, tattoos, in a band, and older than me, what could go wrong.
