She woke up in her bed in the middle of the night, at first wondering why she had startled awake. But a quick look around easily helped answer that question, her room was pitch black. Even the windows were dark, like the whole thing was covered in shadow. She'd felt a strange wave of magic wash over everything and that had promptly shaken her awake. But now she has a very clear issue, she couldn't see nor did she know why the lights were gone. She blindly reached for her pouch, hoping Loke could help light up her room. She felt she was getting close when there was a tug on her magic and it was passed to her. She looked up into a pair of hazel eyes, thin vertical pupils staring back at her. She jumped, letting out a small squeak of fear. The other person seemed to jump themselves, before quickly responding.
"It's me Lucy, I've taken off my glasses so I can see better" A small orb of light lit up his face, revealing Loke's face and adding a glow to his feline eyes. "See? You called for my help and I'm ready to serve!"
Her mind had completely broken down as she gaped up at him. Two fangs were poking out of his grin as he allowed his more lion-like features to show. It was a little sad she couldn't see his full mane, it was so poofy and soft when he was like this.
"I didn't know your eyes could do that"
He scratched the back of his neck nervously, deciding that the other side of the room was suddenly very interesting.
"Yeah, they can but usually only in darkness. I can change my eyes at will.but I prefer not to. They're a bit freakish I think"
"I think they look cool though"
She'd just blurted that out but she was glad she did when a light blush graced his cheeks. He became bashful, both of them forgetting about the current situation to focus on each other.
"Thanks Lucy, I guess they do make me look mysterious huh?"
"If that's what you want to think Loke"
She giggled at him, joy increasing when he snorted in displeasure. He shook his head and looked like he was about to argue his point when he froze. He tilted his head slightly, focusing on something she couldn't see or hear. Small flickering let her know that his feline ears were listening to something. He put a finger to his lips before whispering softly.
"You have uninvited guests Lucy, sounds like thieves. They're trying to pick your lock, they're doing a shoddy job of it"
That explained the blackout then, if anyone woke up they're hoping they won't be seen. Or that they could just knock them out. It wasn't the worst plan in the world and she'd heard of an increase in burglaries lately. It was time to put a stop to this then, before something tragic happened. She was as quiet as possible when she responded, knowing he could easily hear her.
"What's the plan? I don't feel like getting robbed today"
"Of course, no one robs my wife unless they want to lose all their teeth. Due to the darkness, I'm going to have to take point here, do you trust me?"
"Stupid question, you know I do"
He sighed softly, a lovesick fool if she ever knew one
"I know, but I love to hear you say it. Alright, let's go punish some idiots"
She put her pouch down on the bed, not really wanting to add to the current chaos, but filled with a need to be useful, she spoke up once more.
"Could you pass me my whip? I know it's bright but I won't leave all the work to you"
"Ah, you don't need to worry Lucy. Give it a test lash" He handed her Fleuve d'étoiles, which she immediately called on. The magical whip was surprisingly dim in her hands. "It won't betray you"
