Caius turned to Noah, ignoring the Volturi all around who were busy throwing parts of bodies into the flames. Caius was a king and he did not have to get involved in the cleaning-up process-- nobody would expect him to. Instead, he simply stared at Noah with midnight black eyes. The human reached his hands up to gently touch the cracks on Caius' jaw with his gloved hands, The cracks were almost completely healed already but the lines were still visible and Caius closed his eyes under the touch. With all the adrenaline coursing through him, Noah took a risk in leaning forward and sealing their lips but Caius was more immune to Noah than anybody else and he did not drop, he remained standing still and even had the strength to reach up and grab Noah's hips pulling him closer. It didn't seem to matter that the whole of the Volturi could see them and Noah felt virtually no disgust or discomfort at the kiss. He only felt unbridled joy at being able to kiss a man that he truly liked without repercussion. It was something he'd forever thought was impossible.

"Hot damn," Felix whistled and Noah laughed, detaching their lips. Caius had an angry glare painted across his face and when he turned to Felix, Noah grabbed his arm to stop him. He wouldn't put it past Caius to hurt Felix for this small interruption. He'd surely hurt Noah more for less.

"Felix is just jealous," Noah informed, adjusting his coat.

"I don't deny it," Felix winked with a shrug. He held his hands up in defence a moment later when Caius turned an angry glare at him. Felix wisely turned and wandered away then, likely to go and annoy Heidi who was somewhere among the crowd. Noah breathed in deep breaths of cold air, allowing it to settle his nerves. Everything had started and ended so quickly that he was left with whiplash.

"Let's go where it's warm," Noah encouraged as the vampires seemed to settle back around the fire as though nothing had happened-- the bodies scenting the air didn't seem to be a problem to them as they froze back into pillars among the snow. Noah couldn't comprehend how they could be so calm after a potentially catastrophic occurrence. Caius said nothing but proceeded to head back toward the house and Noah followed shortly behind, thankful they were escaping the frosty cold, especially as his back sang with pain from his flight through the air.

A wall of heat smashed into Noah the second he stepped through the bedroom door and he was melting before he could rip off his top layer of clothes. He pulled off layer after layer and threw them onto the couch, thankful he'd been wearing them as it saved him from a back injury. Still, he found himself gripping the bottom of his back and feeling like an old man all the while.

"What is wrong?" Caius questioned, following Noah into the bedroom. "Are you hurt?" Caius did not even try and hide the fact that he was worried, approaching Noah but not touching him as he promised him he never would. "What happened?"

"Besides being thrown across an icy field?" Noah chuckled, grabbing his shirt and pulling it out from his trousers. Noah thankfully felt comfortable enough in front of Caius to unbutton his shirt and allow it to drop. He, at the very least, was proud of his body. There was nothing else about Noah that he himself could claim to be proud of. Caius approached behind him but made no move to touch him. Still, Noah could feel his coolness and his gaze on his skin.

"You have scars," Caius breathed lowly and Noah wasn't sure if he'd intended for him to have heard it.

"I know," Noah turned around, eyes meeting Caius' and Noah smiled, glad that their heights were so equally matched. The human reached up and moved Caius' blond hair out of his eyes. The king just stared at him, seeming slightly surprised with how easily he touched him. But Noah felt comfortable, his disgust at touching someone else dimmed as he knew he couldn't hurt him and Caius was somewhat immune to him now-- at least, he didn't collapse under the touch like others. But Noah still had nervousness when it came to others touching him. It still made his skin crawl and his breath quicken. Luckily, Caius didn't ever do such things. "Do you remember when I told you they'd beat it out of me?" he winked with a smile and Caius' mouth gaped slightly.
