The weekend came and Halloween was tonight.
I was a little excited only because Rose said we could go out together. I told her I was down and it was better than passing out candy at my house cause I didn't want to.
She asked if I had any Halloween decorations up yet and when I said no, she came over one afternoon and helped me put them up when I didn't have work.
Now that it was Saturday, Rose was over here and we were getting ready to go out tonight. I thought it was funny how we were still going trick or treating but remembered what I told Paisley that day.
Free candy.
The rest of the week went pretty good.
My hand was healing and Adeline kept an eye on it, along with Rose. I knew it wasn't broken and would heal pretty quickly.
It still hurt but not as bad.
There was definitely a bruise still but at least it was healing.
Adeline and I talked after classes and even though I didn't take her home, I still enjoyed the moment we had together in the classroom.
Rose was happy that she didn't choose Waylen and told me that she knew it all along.
I just rolled my eyes.
But right now, we were outside hanging more lights up as Rose was trying to get us in the Halloween spirit. She was placing purple and orange lights on my house, making it more, Halloweenie, as she said and I never saw her laugh so hard.
As we were outside, I look over at the neighbors and saw Paisley outside before she ran over to us before hugging me. I hugged her back and smiled once we pull away before seeing her look up and saw Rose.
"Rose!"
I saw Rose look down and smile before getting off the ladder. She opened her arms and pulled Paisley into a hug before telling her how much she missed her.
"I missed you too." Paisley smiles as they were hugging.
"You're getting taller, oh my gosh." Rose spun her around as Paisley was laughing. "Child.. you're almost taller than me."
"I'm about to be fourteen." She smiles.
Rose looks at me before looking back at her as if she couldn't believe it. "No way. We're getting old."
I chuckle before shaking my head, watching them catch up as I was smiling. I loved the sight in front of me cause Rose has always adored Paisley and I was happy that she liked her as much as I did.
Paisley was amazing and she had a great personality.
It's crazy to think she's about to be fourteen.
"You'll be driving soon."
"I know." Paisley smiles. "My mom said I could get a car for my sixteenth birthday."
Rose smiles before looking at me. "That's great." She looks back at Paisley. "I'm glad your mom is back in your life."
"Me too."
"How are you two?" I ask.
"We're good." She smiles, which made me smile. "She's picking me up later tonight so we can all go trick or treating."
Rose furrows her eyebrows. "Who's we?"
"My mom and her boyfriend."
"Oh." She looks away and makes a gagging motion.
I shook my head before her grandmother came out and called her back home. She gave us hugs before running over next door as we stood there watching her.
