8. Friends?

Before I leave the Barnes and Nobles, I buy 2 chocolate chip cookies and a drink from the hidden-like Starbucks.

I end up in front of the same hospital that my mom died in.

It feels like it was just yesterday, my little self walked up these steps, into the elevator and into the room 64 where I found my mother.

Lifeless.

Dead.

On life support. My dad just wept all day and I didn't know how to comfort him, nor myself.

But I didn't shed a single tear that day. I just didn't know how to cry. Well of course I knew how to, but that day, I forgot the simplest things.

Forgetting the depressing memory, I walk up to the front desk.

"Hi, is there a boy named James here?" I ask the secretary.

"James what?" She asks eying me suspiciously.

"I don't know, I just want to see him" I say, tapping my fingers on the desk, growing impatient.

"And who are you?" She asks, clearly not getting a hint that I am about to punch her in the face.

"I'm a friend" I say.

"Okay then, I'll try to see what I can find." She promises, typing something on her computer.

"Well he was in a fight, it was today so he probably checked in a few hours ago. If that helps" I try, giving information I know.

"Well we found one, his name is James Winchester, does that ring a bell?" She asks.

"Yeah" I lie because I have no idea what his last name is but it's better than nothing. "He's in room 524 on the 5th floor"

"Thank you" I say as I head to the elevators.

When I arrive to the 5th floor, I look for room 524.

I spot the number that may or may not contain the nerd-looking guy I'm looking for.

I knock rather quietly, in case he is sleeping.

A few seconds pass by and I grow inpatient so I decide to open the door.

I find a nerd-looking boy reading a book on the bed.

"Who told you that you can come in?" He greets me harshly.

"Shut up. Is that how you act towards someone who brought you food? I say, putting the Starbucks on his hospital bed.

"Thanks." He says with a grin. As he smiles but it doesn't quite reach his eyes . I notice he doesn't have his glasses on but contacts that showcases his beautiful green eyes.

"By the way, I like the new look." I say, trying to cheer him up, while taking a bite of the cookie I bought for myself.

"Why thank you. I should actually thank your boyfriend, I look amaze balls."

"Amaze balls?" I ask, being a stranger to that kind of vocabulary.

"I don't know, it's like another word for amazing but it's just more amazing then amazing" He says, not really making sense.

"That did not make any sense at all" I say laughing.

"Well it does to me. I guess it's a thing that only amaze ballers can get." He says being cocky.

"Yeah, sure" I say sarcastically, rolling my eyes.

Then I notice a bandage around his head, an injury, and suddenly feel guilt building up in my stomach.

"And sorry for the condition Nick put you in. He said he would apologize..." I say, giving him a sincere apology, still puzzled that Nick fought James.

"It's okay, really. If it wasn't for him, I would still be that nerd-looking guy with no friends." He says, looking at me with a smile.

I smile back.

"So we are friends?" I ask.

"Friends." He confirms, shaking my hand firmly.

Guys, this was just a bit of an introduction but starting from now, this is where all the drama gets released and all hell breaks loose. I won't give you guys huge teasers anymore, only like key words.
I want to thank a lot of people but it's just the beginning of the book. So I will do that later.
