The next morning green eyes comes into the room carrying a platter. " I made you breakfast." Placing the tray in front of me.

"Thanks." I croak popping a grape in my mouth.

"What's your name?" I can't keep mentally calling him green eyes.

He looks taken back for a moment before collecting his self. "I'm Nathaniel. I'll be keeping an eye on you until Alessandro takes over."

"Takes over?"

"Yes. He's fixed on this absurd idea that you can tame him. How silly it must be for you to be kept against your will for a man with no self control." He scoffs straightening his tie.

"I don't understand?" Pushing the tray to the edge of the bed I fold my hands waiting for him to elaborate.

"I've said too much. Alessandro will explain it better. I will return to give you a tour of the Mansion. For now you can freshen up. Your clothes have already been picked out for you." With no further instructions he clomps out.

What was that all about?

I cried my eyes out in the steaming shower, cried when I got dressed, and moped while I did my hair.

Some time later Nathaniel comes back scowling. "What's wrong?" I ask.

He huffs,"I'm babysitting a grown ass woman that's what's wrong."

"I didn't ask to be here." I bite back. "If I'm that much trouble to you let me go then."

"Don't be stupid, Alessandro would have my head if I did that. I'm just busting your balls." He brightens.

He's got an odd sense of humor, it's extremely dry and his facial expression is far from upbeat. It's either neutral or scowling.

"Well stop, I don't think it's funny." Crossing my arms over my chest, I scold him.

He frowns shaking his head, "I'm sorry, I know this is a new way of living for you. Clearly you don't appreciate my jokes so I'll stop if that's what you'd like."

"Can we get on with this tour or whatever." I deflect.

"Yes, this way." Leading me out we spend hours wondering around. He doesn't say anything to me other than what each room is.

This place is huge! I know I'm going to get lost here. I live on the third floor, the second floor consists of a dining hall, library, music hall, and a few bedrooms.

As we continue to meander around I can't help but ask,"What's on the first floor?"

Nathaniel deadpans,"What about the first floor is so interesting to you? The fact that it's forbidden for you to be down there?"

"Well...yes."

"Humans." He snorts. "Nevermind what's down there; just know you are to never under any circumstances go down there. Got it?"

"Uh huh." I shrug.

Later that night a howl rips through the house. I pop out of my room tip toeing down the hallway. I'm sure curiosity killed the cat but right now I don't care.

The halls are pitch black, my only speck of light coming from the moon through the big Victorian style windows.

I have no idea how many flights of steps I walked down but it's been a while now and finally I've hit solid ground.

"Great, where the hell am I?" I whisper to no one. Stumbling along someone pushes me against the wall pinning me there.

"You should not have come down here." A deep voice growls. My breath hitches in my throat, "I uh-"

"No!" He yells. "You were told not to come down here and yet here you are."

"A-are you going to kill me?" I squeak.

He chuckles with no humor, gripping my face in his claws he nuzzles me sighing. "Are you scared?"

I nod.

Grazing my neck with his teeth he vibrates against my body, this feeling is odd and comfortable all at the same time. I know I shouldn't be enjoying this but something about his warmth is so inviting.

"Don't be." He says backing off of me grabbing my hand leading me to a door.

His hand runs through my hair taking a deep breath of it. "Don't come back, no matter what you hear, stay away."

"But-"

"No!" He bellows with authority.

Tears rush to my eyes as I shake free of his grasp running in any direction that seems far from him.

In the background glass breaks and furniture is overturned. A feral growl heard behind me only fueling me to move faster.

He's crazy.
