chapter 4: Mission accomplished

Third POV

Oda and Gide faces each other, gun pointed at both of them, the both pull the trigger but Oda stopped when he remembered something. The question that Night asked him before the day the tragedy struck.

~flashback~

"Oda-san?" Night called, the said male look towards her.

"Do you need anything Night?" He asked, Night shook her head.

"I just want to ask you a question" she stated, as she look at him in the eyes.

"Hmm... Sure, what is it?" Oda raise his brow.

"Does revenge solve anything?" Night asked at Oda, Oda shook his head.

"No, revenge doesn't solve everything." He respond.

"Why? Even though people did some evil things even from you?" Night questioned.

"Yes, we mustn't take revenge even though they did horrible things to us. Because even though we take revenge, it wouldn't solve anything and it will be a never ending cycle." Oda answered. "Why did you ask this all of a sudden?" He asked this time.

"No reason!" She responded and run towards Misuzu and Sougyoku who was under the shade of the tree, sleeping.

~flashback end~

*BANG!*

Oda let go of his gun while coughing out blood and fall on the ground in slow motion.

'That's right... Revenge can't solve anything because it won't bring you all back to me, I almost made a mistake twice...' He fall to the ground.

"You've made a big mistake when you didn't pull the trigger Sakunosuke, I thought you were the right man that can kill me, but you hesitate, so it lead you to your death." He stated and pull the trigger again shooting Oda.

He turned around to leave as he thought that Oda will die because no one will save him cause they are the only people that are in the place.

But all of a sudden, the window broke and someone barged in making Gide look up including the injured Oda but his vision was blurry to recognize who the person is.

Etsumi's POV

Me, Hiryū, and Meka run in a fast pace towards the destination.

"Etsumi..." Hiryū called making me look back at him.

"Go ahead before us, we'll catch up. Meka will follow you after while I'll communicate with the animals to help me secure the place." He explained, I nod and jumped from tree to tree in a fast pace because I saw our destination.

I heard a gun making me go faster but then it was followed my another one again, so I jumped towards the glass window shattering it as a result.

I saw Oda is the only one laying injured on the floor while Gide was still standing without any injuries at all.

"Ah, an uninvited guest" Gide stated but I just staring blankly at him.

I grab my guns that is hiding at my thighs and shoot Gide while still at the air, I noticed his eyes widened as he cough out blood.

'He didn't saw it coming huh?' I thought, he drop at the ground in a immediate death because I put a strong poison that could kill him in just a second.

I landed gracefully at the ground and spin my guns at my hands and put it back at my thighs hiding from people's view if they wouldn't look carefully.

I started to walk towards Oda to check if his still alive but then, a couple of footsteps make me stop and jumped in the shadows so they wouldn't see me.

Third POV

"ODASAKU!"

Dazai run towards Oda's side and held him close, but when he did he saw blood, Oda's blood that taint his bandaged hand when he touched the wound.

"This is bad! Why?! Odasaku Why?!" Dazai screamed.

"Dazai..." Oda started, even though his vision is blurry he can clearly tell that it's his friend because of his voice. "Your much more valuable than me... Come on... If anyone... Was to get hurt... It's better me... Than-" He was cut off my Dazai

"Don't say that! I'm going to get you out of here! Just hold on!" Dazai panicked "your the only one who could understand me! Your the only one who could understand me! Your the only one who's there for me!! You can't die!!" He yelled.

"Dazai... Listen..." Oda hold some of Dazai's hair and continued "You told me that you might find a reason to live if you lived in a world of violence and bloodshed... You won’t find it... You must know that already... Whether you’re on the side who kills people or the side who saves people, nothing beyond what you would expect will appear... Nothing in this world can fill that lonely hole you have... You will wander the darkness for eternity..."

"What would I do Odasaku?" Dazai asked his friend.

"I want you to be on the side that saves people... If both sides are the same... then choose to become a good person..." And with that Oda falls into unconsciousness.

"Oda... Saku?..."

Dazai mourn at his friend death, as soon as he leave his friend's body, Etsumi leave her hiding spot and Meka also went in with her supplies.

She kneeled down beside Oda and checked his pulse. "His pulse is slow but we can still save him."

Meka grab her tea herbs that is already mix with water, she the look at Etsumi. "You know what to do Etsumi" Meka handed the herb to Etsumi and she use her ability.

"Ghost recletic hydroletic sanctuary"

Herb glowed a bit but then died for a couple seconds, she handed it back to Meka, Meka put it aside first and took out the bullet from his body while wearing surgical gloves and patch it up with bandages.

Meka then make the unconscious Oda swallow it by pressing his nose and pour some of the herbs into his mouth carefully.

When she successfully made him swallow it, the wounds started to heal itself because of the herbs and Etsumi's ability combined. Meka stood up and smile in relief.

"The plan is a success" Meka stated and pulled her surgical gloves out from her hands and put it in a separate box in her supplies.

"Yeah" Etsumi respond and Hiryū come in with a smile. "The coast is clear, I made sure of it." He said and carried the still unconscious Oda.

"I hope the three will arrive when we also arrive back at HQ." Hiryū stated making the two nod.
