Your POV

Remus didn't appear when we arrived at his first Defense Against the Dark Arts lesson. We all sat down, took out our books, quills, and parchment, and talked. When he finally entered the room. Remus smiled vaguely and placed his tatty old briefcase on the teacher's desk. He was as shabby as ever but looked healthier than he had on the train, as though he had had a few square meals.

"Why does he build like that," Kayden whispers.

"Shut it"

"Good afternoon," he said. "Would you please put all your books back in your bags. Today will be a practical lesson. You will need only your wands."

"This is what I'm talking about", I smirked as I whispered to myself.

A few curious looks were exchanged as we put our books away. We had never had a practical Defense Against the Dark Arts class before unless you counted the memorable class last year when our old teacher, aka that disgusting paedophile, had brought a cageful of pixies to class and set them loose.

"Right then," said Remus when everyone was ready. "If you'd follow me."

everyone was puzzled but interested; the class got to its feet and followed Remus out of the classroom. He led us along the deserted corridor and around a corner, where the first thing we saw was Peeves the Poltergeist, who was floating upside down in midair and stuffing the nearest keyhole with chewing gum.

Peeves didn't look up until Remus was two feet away; then, he wiggled his curly-toed feet and broke into song.

"Loony, loopy Lupin," Peeves sang. "Loony, loopy Lupin, loony, loopy Lupin --"

"If you keep singing, I'm sending you to hell and make sure they'll make your stay there living in hell." I smiled at Peeves.

He screeched as he floated as soon as possible, "I'd take that gum out of the keyhole if I were you, Peeves!" he said pleasantly. "Mr Filch won't be able to get into his brooms."

"Shall we proceed?"

They set off again, the class looking at shabby Professor Lupin with increased respect. He led them down a second corridor and stopped outside the staffroom door.

"Inside, please," said Remus, opening it and standing back.

Kayden laughed but got smacked by Easton.

Oh yeah,  the reason why I called him by his name is that he was the one who told me to call him by his first name.

~ a few days ago

"Re-Professor Lupin! I have some questions for our upcoming lessons."

"Oh, hello there, Y/N. Nice seeing you."

"Oh- It's nice seeing you too but please, for our upcoming lessons. Please do not bring or show us something dangerous because I had enough from last semester." I tried to explain what happened last time.

He laughs, "Don't worry, I won't. Also, you can call me Remus; I know it's inappropriate for me to do that, but it's just weird hearing you calling me Professor Lupin. Remember the person who I told you about last time?" I nodded.

"That is why I don't want you to call me Professor Lupin. I am not used to it. But if you want, you can just call me by my name when we are alone."

That sounds even weirder.

"Oh Goddess, I sound like a child predator right now, but please do what you want." he awkwardly smiled at me and left me.
