I hopped over the fence of the track and headed for the clubhouse it was old and abandoned these days, not sure what it was like when it was in use but whatever I got to the door and knocked. It took a few minutes and nothing so I just open the door myself I still had one of the keys we found I looked around and saw that Beth was taking a nap on the sofa. I woke her up and she smiled when she saw me she sat up and I took a seat next to her and she looked at me and wanted for me to say something I guess she forgot.

"Well I'm here," I said.

"Yeah," Beth said.

"You said you want to talk," I said.

"Oh that's right well I was hoping we could maybe try again," Beth said.

"Oh... I see" I said.

"You don't want to," Beth said.

"It's not that I don't want I just can't I am with someone else now so I can't be with you," I said.

"Oh okay," Beth said looking sad.

"Hey look I know that what we had was special but it is not what I needed and it still isn't," I said.

"But I need you," Beth said.

"No you don't I know how you think and trust me I know you want me but you don't need me," I said.

"But I still love you Ann I always have," Beth said close to crying.

"Beth you have your life ahead of you that is more than enough time to find some and fall in love all over again," I said.

"But I don't think I can it won't be the same," Beth said.

"Look falling in love is different every time because you fall in love with another person and when you fall in love with someone new it will be different but it will feel just as amazing as the first time," I said.

"I will never forget the moment I realized I loved you," Beth said.

"Nor will I but I now have to focus my love on my new girlfriend," I said.

"Right but as I said in the letter I do owe you," Beth said.

"Oh," I said.

"Yeah so if you need anything just let me know," Beth said.

"Sure I give you a call," I said just as the bell went off for the end of lunch.

It was Friday and classes just finished I had all my stuff in my car and I told Scarlette and we agreed to take my car I got in the passenger side and then I waited for Scarlette. Scarlette had to come a little later when we knew no one would see us after all in our relationship discretion was key if anyone knew it would be the end in more ways than one. When Scarlette did get to the car she wasted no time she put her stuff in the back and then before I even had the chance to say anything we were on our way.

"So where are we headed," I said.

"Can't tell you that it is a surprise?" Scarlette said.

"Fine but my car my music," I said as I plugged in my phone and played my music.

"Ah ha ha ha ha" Scarlette laughed as my music played.

We were on the road for a good few hours before Scarlette said we were here and I looked out at a small but cute little town it was nice here I could see a few signs as we entered the town showing that this place was very accepting of the LGBT.

"What is this place," I said.

"Just a small town where we can be as gay as we like," Scarlette said and I giggled.

"So where are we staying," I said.

"Riiight here," Scarlette said as she pulled into the parking lot of a small inn.

"The weary lover," I said as I got out and looked at the sign.

"Yeah the owner is a long and dear friend of mine," Scarlette said as she got our stuff out.

"Welcome to the we... Scarlette" Said a woman as she wiped the counter down.

"Hi Em," Scarlette said as they hugged.

"It's so good to see you but why are you here," She said.

"We need a room for a few days," Scarlette said as she pulled me to her side and gave the girl a knowing look.

"Here you can have room 205 my most popular room," She said handing us a key.

"Thanks, Em," Scarlette said.

"So who was that," I said once we were in our room.

"That was Emma she was always there for me back when I was younger not just her, her whole family she is a 4'th generation owner of this place," Scarlette said.

"4'th really," I said.

"Yep this place is a free and proud town," Scarlette said.

"Well it was your idea to bring me here so I hope you have a plan for our time here," I said.

"Of course I do now put something nice on as we have a diner date," Scarlette said.

"Oh how demanding of you," I said as I grabbed a few things from my bag anded headed for the walk-in bathroom.

I looked around the bathroom it was nice and small it had an old-time feel to it I took off what I was wearing and pulled on my chosen clothes hoping had chosen an outfit that would fit in with the aesthetic of the town. I left the bathroom to see that Scarlette had chosen an outfit similar to mine and was now fixing her hair in the mirror in the corner of the room and I smiled.

"Well look at you fitting in perfectly," Scarlette said.

"I could say the same about you," I said.

"That's fair," Scarlette said.

"So what time are we going to eat," I said.

"Well, I made a reservation for 06:00 with gives as one hour, So in the meantime how about I show you around," Scarlette said.

"Let's go," I said taking her hand.

"Have fun you two," Emma said as we left hand in hand.

The two of us walked around hand in hand as Scarlette took me around town it was a beautiful town it was a place I could see myself living in in the future I loved it. As Scarlette took me around town she told me about the first time she came here she had run away and was taken in by an old same-sex couple that understood what she was going through. In the time Scarlette hand spent here as a young girl she had made many friends and had become very well acquainted with the majority of those who lived here and all were accepting of our love even with our age difference. When we got to the restaurant the ones working there saw us and immediately took us to a booth that looked like it had been decorated specially for our arrival.
