It was like a gateway from a movie or book, beautiful and enchanting.

I felt like it was all from a story, maybe it is just a story.

Or a dream before I go to heaven?

Or maybe this was my hell.

The cloaked man lead her through the rusted old door down a spiraled staircase. The smell of moss and dust filled the air like a toxin almost suffocating them.
But ,nonetheless, they pressed on further into the darkness.
Y/n felt like her life was now coming to an end every step that they took down. Although, she wanted to take her life she never imagined that taking one's life would end up like this.
As they walked you could hear a soft stream of water coming up above and the sounds of wind blowing from somewhere within the darkness.
Candles lined up the walls feets away, only giving off so little light.

It was dim, calm, and unsettling.

The clocked man felt uneasy bringing the mortal to his sanctuary, but it was the only place he could think of besides his kingdom.
However, he didn't trust this being near the royal family or the kingdom in that matter. He didn't know her or knew if she was a spy from a rival kingdom.
But he didn't understand why he brought her here, of all places.
So as he listened to the familiar sounds of the catacombs he also listened to the rapid pace of the girls heart.

She was scared, and he knew this.

"You reek of fear," the man said.

Y/n face turned to him within seconds, only to reveal her already red face.

"Excuse me?" She questioned," I- am not scared of you, in a matter in fact I actually enjoy uh where your taking me."

She huffed turning her head away from him again.

"Your scared and your a fool for not being so Mortal."

Y/n body stilled for a second before responding," Did you just call me 'mortal'?"

"Is that seriously all you got from that?" He chuckled a bit.

She looked at him for a moment, and for some reason his chuckle made her more relaxed then she had been since she went to that hill.

"Maybe," she said grinning a bit.

Y/n stared at the forgotten tunnels as they walked further.

To her it was like a story, everything was like a story.

She followed the masked man down to what seemed like a forgotten tunnel. Every turn and step seemed like a part of her disintegrating, died. But, every turn and step also felt like clouds and relief. It had such an intoxicating aura to it that she just couldn't resist.

After a few more turns y/n and the blade finally had made it to a huge opening underground. Torches surrounded the walls lighting up everything. Amour and weapons laid scattered on the ground and tables, some were even hanging on the walls like decoration. Along with everything a fur rug laid in the middle adding a cozy look, and next to it sat a wooden chair and desk.
Papers covered the table with what looked like documents.
Beside the desk was a tall bookshelf, some of the books looked old and worn down while others looked newly made and in perfect condition.

"So am I just your prisoner?" Y/n finally spoke making The Blade stop in his tracks.

"Yes."

Jesus so blunt.

"Why? I didn't even do anything wrong?"

He turned and looked at y/n, still holding onto her wrist," I've never seen you before, you knew info on the royal family then anyone in the kingdom, and for all I know you could be a spy."

Y/n f/c eyes stared at him for a moment. Then her face dropped to a frown," Do I look like a spy?" Her eyebrow rose slightly in questioning.

"Possibly."

Is this dude for real? I look like a rat that just fell out of a dumpster.

Y/n looked at him then at the room. There were so many weapons and books she felt like she was in a fantasy story and she was the main character.

But she thought to herself.

In those stories the main character was brave and outgoing and smart. They fell in love, everything always went right. They had friends to help them and be by their side, they had everything perfect.

They even had powers.

As y/n was too consumed within her thoughts she hadn't noticed The Blade had set up a table of food. There was pork and beef, a stack of potatoes and bottles of what looked like a- potion?

The Blade had slowly moved y/n towards a chair and sat her down, still unaware of everything.

He looked at her, and in a way he felt worried. She had a look on her face of distress that all he could do was be worried. He just didn't understand why he is worried over a poor mortal.

But as he looked at her more, his heart began to flutter.

"You should eat" he spoke startling her from her thoughts.

"Oh um-" she finally was brought back to reality from her mind only to smell the sweet aroma of food.

She looked around for a second before laying eyes on the plate of food before her, and that's when she noticed she was sitting.

Confusion washed through her face till she looked up at the masked man.

"Did you make me sit?"

"I am amazed on how you didn't notice." He tilted his head.

Y/n could feel the amusement radiating off of him making her face heat up in embarrassment.

"I- I guess I was too distracted by my thoughts to notice-"

"It's alright, you should eat however." He gestured to the food in front of us.

Y/n hesitated for a moment but her stomach ached with hunger.

"I didn't poison it if that's what your wondering."

She looked up at him then slowly reached for the food.

'Maybe this isn't so bad,' she thought, and as she took a bite out of the freshly cooked beef. Her taste buds melted into the taste, it was heavenly.

For the rest of that time Y/n allowed her body to answer their cries of hunger. All the while, The Blade smiled under his mask and joined her in her feast.
