25| I'm just destruction
Yoongi dashed toward the reception, shocking the girl who was chilling a while ago. "What can I help you with sir?" She questioned, her voice laced with worry as well as shock. Yoongi gasped for air, trying to speak. He takes a deep breath, trying to calm his breathing and heartbeat.
"Min I-Shadow....where is..she?" The receptionist tilts her head as she hurriedly goes through the patient's names but she frowns when she couldn't find anyone with the name. "There is no patient with that name, Sir."
Yoongi shakes his head, a deep frown settling on his brows. "No, look carefully." She once again checks the names carefully but again the same reaction. "No, there isn't any patient with that name."
Yoongi pushes his hair back, showing his clammy forehead. He bites his lip, trying to stop the negative thoughts from taking over his mind. "Yeah? Jungkook. What happened? Who fainted?" Yoongi's ears perk up at the name of Jungkook.
He turns around to find a tall man with specks talking on his phone. A frown on his brows, as he walks toward the door. Yoongi wasn't sure if it was the Jungkook he knew or if it was someone else but he followed the man to his instinct.
Jungkook nods his head, inhaling the fresh air. "Yeah....okay, Hyung. Hm, thanks for your help. Yeah, I will. Bye." Jungkook clicks on the red button, ending the conversation. He once again sighs, as he closes his eyes in frustration.
"What a stubborn girl!" He thought as he stared out of the window to look at her standing with her arms on the railing, staring at the sea. "I wonder what she's thinking right now." Jungkook pushes his hair back as he opens the car door to get some fresh air as well-or it was just an excuse to initiate a conversation with her.
He slips his hands into his pockets, taking slow steps toward her. She doesn't move from her place-still staring at the sea, glowing under the moonlight. She was lost in deep thoughts and right now she was in her own world. Jungkook pursed his lips, looking up at the night sky.
The sky was looking like glitter was sprinkled on a black canvas and a huge ball of light was placed to give some glow to the black canvas-even the dark sky needed someone that could light up their world.
He sighs, a small smile lingering on his lips. The dark sky that let the moon and stars twinkle on it, the sound of the waves creating a melody of its own, the crickets singing a song from afar, the moon gleaming on the sea and shining on it-Something was peaceful in the night. Was it because there was beauty in the dark that no one ever realized? Or was there beauty in peace that people failed to notice?
"My dad..." Jungkook flinched at the sudden voice that sounded brittle and low. He turns his head to his right to find her looking up at the sky. "He..." Shadow flutters her eyes, sucking in a breath, trying to control her emotions that we're about to spill
Jungkook was frozen like ice. He was shocked to the point that he was frozen in his place and his breathing stopped. A soft sob made its way out of her mouth as she breathed in and breaths out. It was clear that she was trying her best but she had no control over her body right now.
Jungkook draws together in worry as he quickly stepped toward her to comfort her. He raised his hand to her shoulder but stopped in the middle. He wasn't sure if she will like it or not, all he knew was she didn't like physical touch.
Shadow takes a deep breath, wiping the tears that were making her vision blurry. "He used to beat me-" She hiccups, as she remembers the painful memories that were as fresh as they happened a day ago. "-I...I never did something wrong.....I didn't even know why it was happening to me. Why...I was getting beaten for every little mistake. I was just a child...a child with bad luck."
Jungkook's heart clenched listening to her traumatic past. How could a father do this to their child? This thought was running through his mind. How lucky he was, he realized it today. Having a loving family was a blessing he didn't realize until now.
"Everything gets ruined because of me. Everything! I'm just destruction-nothing else. You asked me why I hate Yoongi right?"
She turns in his direction, tears streaming down her face. "He never did something wrong... but he used to get the special treatment while I? I was abused...." Shadow stops, her chest tossing up and down, and her voice was breathy.
"He fucking stole my place! The day he was born-I hated him from the very first day because it reminded me that I'm not loved-I and was never loved..." She says as her voice becomes timid. Jungkook sniffs, not caring for anything, and hugs her. Shadow's eyes widened, and her heart thumped against her chest like a drum.
Her arms were raised in the air in an awkward position, not knowing what to do. Jungkook rubs her back, cradling her in his arms. "It's okay...let it all out. I'm here for you. No one will do something to you from now on." He whispered as he blinked to get rid of his tears. A soft sob left her mouth that soon turned into loud wailing.
She wasn't crying because her memories again got refreshed. She was crying because she didn't feel this comfort, and warmth in someone's arms for a long time, she didn't hear these words-the words she needed the most at this time.
Today she realized how much burden she had on her shoulders, how heavy her heart felt with all those bottled-up emotions and secrets. How much she needed someone in her life but she kept pushing it only to get depressed.
Today she realized that sometimes being vulnerable feels nice. Sometimes crying is the best option to let it all out instead of drinking and smoking.
She wanted to speak-speak her heart out but her tears weren't stopping as well as her hiccups. The emotions she bottled up for years spilled in some seconds. All she needed was a hug and someone who could give her a shoulder to cry on. A person who could reassure her, a person who could make her feel comfortable.
But was the burden still there? Was she hiding something else? Or did she finally tell her secrets to Jungkook?
Hehe, I revealed her past today but still, her identity isn't revealed.
I'm excited about the upcoming chapters.
I hope her identity will be revealed soon.Idk but to me this book is becoming boring, seriously. Like tbh, I don't think this book is interesting anymore.
