Chapter 4: A Regular Life For The Little Sister Kotori Itsuka

"Onii-chan!" Kotori Itsuka yelled out as she jumped on her Onii-chan. Her hair tied in twintails by two white ribbons bouncing in the air.

"Gargh!?" Shido let out a pained gasp as he was suddenly woken up by his 5 year old adopted sister via jumping on his 8 year old body.

"K-Kotori...." His amber eyes glared at her in annoyance at her method of waking him up.

"E-eh....mmm" Kotori started to look very nervous as she saw the look Shido was giving her.

Slowly, Shido brought out a fist infront of her as she flinched at it.

"Eep!?" Kotori closed her eyes as she felt him hit her on the top of her head. The hit wasn't too strong, but it did sting just a bit.

"Ow!"

"Stop!"

"Ow!"

Kotori awaited the next hit. A few seconds passed as she noticed her brother was no longer hitting her on the head.

She opened an eye as she looked at her brother who had an annoyed look on his face. He then poked her forehead with a finger, his nails digging into her forehead as he pushed her head back.

"Don't. Do. That. Again." Shido said as he sighed. "I could've got seriously injured."

"....rry." Kotori muttered under her sobs and tears. "I-I'm sorry...."

Shido took a deep breath and sighed. He didn't like it when he saw children cry infront of him, the feeling was even worst when it was one of his siblings when they are still kids.

"Well most of the time....my little brother was always a brat who made it very hard to feel anything for him when he was crying." Shido thought as the glare on his face dissappeared.

"Just don't wake me up like this again. I prefer not to get hurt when I'm asleep....now stop crying." Shido slowly got out of his bed as he cracked his head and shoulders.

"O-Okay....I-I'm sorry that I hurt you Onii-chan..." Kotori said, still in a down mood despite she stopped crying and sobbing.

"Hmm...." Shido merely hummed as he stared at her. He then picked her up and put her on his shoulders.

"W-wha!? Onii-chan?!" Kotori looked at Shido who was giving her a sudden piggyback on his shoulders.

"....I'm second thoughts now of giving you a piggyback as to cheer you up...." Shido said a deadpan expression and tone.

Kotori heard this as his words were being translated in her head.

Translation: You are heavy and I regret doing something nice for you.

Kotori pouted as she hit the top of his head. "Huff!" She huffed in annoyance at her Onii-chan.

"Meany."

"Heh...."

She loved her Onii-chan. But she hated him as well for being a meany to her.

Kotori laid on the couch alone as she watched the anime on the tv with her Onii-chan laid at the opposite side of the couch.

Kotori took a glance at her Onii-chan as she saw he wasn't looking at the tv but at his smartphone. She saw him tap his fingers at it as tapping sounds were heard.

Kotori had seen him do this for awhile ever since he was given the phone by their parents. She was curious at what he was even doing with it.
