Chapter 8: Do or Do Not, You are Fucked

"Shido take this." Tatsuo who was now out of his sleepwear and was now wearing normal clothes, handed a black wristwatch to Shido.

"A watch?" Shido looked at his father and mother who were both wearing clothes that they would have no problem running in and were also wearing similar wristwatches on their arms.

"Why the heck are you giving me a watch?" Shido looked at them in confusion as to why he was given a watch. He also saw it couldn't even tell time.

Both parents looked at each other then looked at Shido.

"Shi-kun, you know what our job is right?" Haruko asked.

"Mechanics, engineering, computer something, you both make things.....the watch is not watch is it?" Shido had quickly realized he was not wearing a watch at all.

"No. Now here, press this button." Tatsuo pointed towards one of the buttons on the watch as a green forcefield formed around him.

"Oh..." Shido's eyes widened as he recognized the green forcefield as what the AST and DEM would casually use as defence.

Shido immediately pressed the button as the forcefield surrounded him. "Territory. Didn't think I would ever get access to this, or at least, an earlier version." Shido thought as he looked at the watch which now showed a power percentage. The power was currently at 100%.

Shido immediately turned the Territory Watch as he called in his mind. He needed to save up power if he wanted to be safe from the unexpected and the expected.

Shido sat in the backseat of his parents car as his father drove and his mother sat in the shotgun seat.

"Why are we going towards the fire?" Shido questioned his parents as anxiety built up inside of him.

"We're going to find Kotori." Haruko answered.

"We? As in all of us? You know I'm still 11 right?" Shido looked at them like they were crazy as they were quite literally bringing an 11 year old into danger.

"Of course not, your staying here in the car until we come back. We only gave you that watch just to make sure you were safe." Haruko explained.

"Thank god. For a moment, I thought they were crazy." Shido thought as he signed in relief he would be putting himself in danger.

"Stay in the car okay, Shi-kun." Shido nodded as he watched his parents run into the fire where Kotori was somewhere in.

"....shit, there gonna die if they really find Kotori....and Kotori's gonna be the cause" Shido thought as he remembered a thing about Kotori's Spirit powers.

"Seriously Mio, why the fuck did you give Kotori powers that would turn her into a bloodlusting berserker!?" Shido growled as he sat in the backseat of the car.

Shido tried remembering the information on Kotori's Spirit powers, specifically the affects on her mind.

"If I remember correctly, while she's absolutely a bloodthirsty killer when using her Spirit powers, she does snap out of it when Cannon Shido appeared as she instinctually doesn't want to hurt him...hmm...it's possible for her to snap out of her bloodthirsty state when seeing mom and dad....but that could also be false if I factor in the changes to her personality with my existence. Meaning my chances of being orphaned and my parents being murdered by Kotori is very possible." Shido ranted on in his thoughts as he then just shouted out in frustration.
