When I woke up this morning, I opened up the curtains in my bedroom and saw that it is daylight outside. That's when I remembered that it is the start of the new year. A new year equals new adventures, but I can't shake the feeling that something interesting will happen. But oh well, maybe I'm just being paranoid about it.

Marina told me and Takeru to take the day off and let us spend new years in any way we see fit. But to be honest, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. I would ask Takeru if he wanted to hangout, but he said had some stuff to do at home. As I was thinking about this, there was a knock at my door. I wasn't sure who it was, not like I was expecting anyone. I opened the door, and saw two of my girlfriends at the door. Sayo and Kanon.

"Good morning, (Y/N)-kun." Sayo said.

"Happy New Year." Kanon said.

"Good morning, you two." I said. "And happy New Year to both of you."

That's when I noticed that both Sayo and Kanon are wearing their kimonos.

"Are you two going to the shrine?" I asked.

"Yes we are." Sayo replied.

"There's going to be a special event that's happening over there." Kanon said.

"I see."

"Since Matsubara-san and I are going to the same place, we thought it would be a good idea to go together." Sayo said.

"And we wanted to see if you want to tag along with us." Kanon said.

I guess hanging out with them is better than staying at home and doing nothing.

"Sure, I don't see why not." I said.

Both Kanon and Sayo smiled at my decision to join them.

"I need to get ready first, so how about you two come inside and wait a moment?" I suggested.

"Well, it is rather cold..." Sayo said.

"Good idea." Kanon added.

They walked inside and sat down on the couch while I went to my bedroom to get ready.

A few minutes later...

I got dressed in the clothes I normally wear for winter. Then I went downstairs to meet up with Sayo and Kanon.

"Sorry it took so long for me to get ready." I said to them.

"It's fine." Kanon said.

"Shall we get going then?" Sayo asked.

"Yeah, we should."

Both girls got up and took my hands. Kanon held my left hand, and Sayo held my right hand. We began to make our way outside, and that's where we spotted another one of my girlfriends: Rimi. Like Sayo and Kanon, she was also wearing her kimono.

"Ah, (Y/N)-kun, Hikawa-senpai and Kanon-senpai. Happy New Year." Rimi said.

"Hi Rimi, Happy New Year to you too." I said as I leaned in to give her a kiss. She kissed me back.

"Rimi-chan, are you going to the shrine by any chance?" Kanon asked.

"Yeah, I'm on my way to see the show that's happening there." She answered.
