Abby's POV

We were numb. I couldn't cry anymore. I had no more tears and my eyes were red. I wasn't the only one though. We hadn't said anything but dad spent a lot of time on the phone with someone.

I still couldn't stop thinking of what they could be doing to Lily and Sydney. They could already be dead.

"They aren't dead," Emma tells me and I look at she looked a mess sitting beside me.

"How do you know," I ask after a while of silence.

"If they wanted them dead right away they would've killed us in our sleep," Emma stated and managed to get some tears out, "this whole time they could've killed us... They want us to suffer."

I didn't say anything else. I understood and it was true. That first night the lady on the steps could've killed me but she didn't. They had killed Elmo and could've just killed me. A shiver went through me.

They enjoyed this didn't they? Having us scramble around scared for our lives.

"I've called your grandmother," dad tells us as he came back in the room.

"Why? Nana can't help us," Emma said and I nodded in agreement. Nana would lose her glasses and need someone to tell her three times there on her face. Nana is the type of grandma that wore to much lipstick and would pinch you cheeks until they hurt.

"Not my mother... Your mom's mother," dad tells us and the surprised me. We've never had contact with mom's family since the funeral. I could only remember that grandma told us, if anything happened, to call her. We had moved away since then and couldn't keep in contact.

"Why call grandma now?" I ask rubbing my arm, it doesn't hurt anymore. Dad sighed and ran his hand through his hair. He walked around my hospital bed and sat on the other side.

"Your grandmother is an expert on these things," he started, "your mother's family deals with a lot of... Ghost, and I know you guys know by now that, ghost are what we're dealing with." Dad ran his hand through his hair again.

"When were you going to tell us this?!" Emma yelled at dad.

"What about the dogs... You guys left them with the ghost.." I held my head.

"We'll save them with your sisters," dad rubbed my back and I slapped his hand.

"Don't you get it dad? No one is going to survive this!" I yell at him, "just let me be alone for a bit..." I put my face in my hands and heard them walk out. I don't know how long I stayed like that but I was able to cry again.

I was let out of the hospital the next day and we went to a little dinner. It was nothing special. Blue and white tiled floor. The waitresses wore skates and business was booming for them. It didn't take long to get a seat though. I pulled on the straps to my hoodie to tighten my hood around my head. I didn't like how normal everything looked.

"Dad why are we here? I thought we were going to the house," I tell him as the waitress not that older then Emma put a plate of scrambled eggs and bacon in front of me.

"You need to eat," dad said as he dug into his pancakes. I looked at Emma and she just nibbled on her food. I looked back at my plate and pushed it away, "Abby... I understand how your feeling but we can't do anything until your grandma is here. She's meeting us here,"

"I'm not eating..." I just stared out of the window watching people come and go. My eyes widen when I saw Lily standing on the sidewalk across the street from the dinner.

"Come find me," she said and even though she was far away it felt like she whispered right into my ear.

"Lily!" I yelled as I got up and ran out of the dinner shoving through people. I heard Dad and Emma say something but I couldn't hear them. I ran into the street and almost got hit by some cars but I made it to the other side and was yanked back by my shoulder.
