Chapter 11

Zoey & Kelly's Townhouse, Chicago 

Jay and Zoey lay cuddled up in bed still slightly out of breath from their prior workout. "So I got a question?" he asked Oh god, here we go. The blonde turned so she could look at him, "Why does your partner call me lover boy?" he asked surprising her. "Um, what? We just had sex and you're asking me about a nickname my work partner has for you? That's not where I thought that was going but okay." Zoey said letting out a slight laugh. "I don't know I guess cuz he knows I'm kinda into you," she replied trying to be casual about the conversation. "Only kinda?" he asks with his signature smirk that made her heart skip a beat and brought a smile to her face every time she saw it. "I was gonna have your child, I think it's a bit more than just I like you, Jay. I just... I suck at relationships, I've never physically seen one that wasn't toxic or one that lasted." Zoey said sitting up as she looked at the detective. 

Jay sat up too, "But I wanna try, If I mean if you still-" he cut her off by pressing his lips onto hers again. She smiled and kissed him back their lips moved in sync for a moment before they broke the kiss. "I love you," he said softly breaking the kiss as he rested his forehead on her's lightly as he stared into her bright blue eyes. "I love you too," she said softly with a smile as she gazed up into his greenish blue eyes. "Want coffee?" she asked after a second as she got up from the bed and picked up Jay's navy blue shirt off the floor throwing it on her naked body. 

"You look good in my shirts," he said with a smirk from the bed, "Good, because I'm gonna start stealing them again, I still have your favourite sweater" she replies with a smirk as she walked out of the room closing the door behind her as she walked over to the kitchen to make some coffee not noticing Kelly on the couch as she walked past. "Fun night?" Kelly asked nearly causing her to jump nearly the mug she just picked up. "Jeeze Kells. You scared me" she said glaring at him before she went to pour a cup of coffee. "More like fun morning," she replied with a smirk as she made her coffee and took a sip. "So are you two back together?" Kelly asked as Zoey poured another mug of coffee and set it on the counter the way Jay liked it. 

A knock on the door caught her attention, saved by the door. Zoey thought as she walked over to the front door and pulled it open to find Morgan standing there. "Fun night with loverboy?" he asked as Zoey rolled her eyes and walked over to the kitchen as her partner shut the door and followed her into the open kitchen and living room. "Hey Kelly," Morgan said, "Hey Morgan" Kelly replied as Zoey started drinking her coffee. "So... you guys make up?" Morgan asked causing even Kelly to look over. "What makes you think we made up? maybe he drove me home and left," she replied smugly causing Kelly to laugh. "Really, isn't that the shirt he was wearing last night?" Morgan asked... Shit. "Ugh Jayyyy" Kelly mocked. "Okay.. fine we're back together Kelly shut up," Zoey said as her face turned bright in embarrassment. 

That's when of all time Jay walked out of the room in his boxers and sweat pants Zoey stole from him a few months ago. The detective had a smirk on his face as he walked over to the kitchen as Zoey slide him the mug of coffee. "Nothing to be ashamed of gorgeous. I love it when you make that sound." Jay said causing Zoey's face to turn even brighter. "So what bring you by at.. 9 in the morning?" the blonde asked changing the subject as she looked towards Morgan. "We got a case, Hotch wants us to be at O'Hare as soon as we can," Morgan said as Zoey's gaze shifted over to Jay's ripped abs. "Yea, I can be ready in..." her voice trailed off as she admired how toned the detective was. "Like was you see?" Jay asked with a smirk sipping his coffee with a smirk. 

Zoey's face went red again, "I'm gonna go get ready," she said quickly turning and heading towards her room hopefully before anyone could see her embarrassment. The blonde shut her door behind her and instantly threw on a fresh pair of underwear along with a matching bra before she threw on a pair of black skinny jeans, black doc martins, a black undershirt and Jay's red and blu plaid shirt she took months ago. 

Zoey placed her badge and gun on her hip and picked up her go bag and phone off the floor before walking out of the room in less than 5 minutes. "Please tell me we aren't going to Florida," she said, "Nope, Alaska actually" Morgan replied. "You're kidding me?" Zoey said. "Yea I'm joking we're actually going to Texas," Morgan said as Zoey sent him a look and rolled her eyes. "I'd rather go to Alaska," she replied, "What's wrong with Texas? other than 90% of their laws?" Jay asked. "Are you still mad about that comment?" Morgan asked, "i can get a head shot from over 500 yards away I don't need some dumb man to tell me not to hurt myself, I could've dropped his ass on the floor without my piece," Zoey scoffed. 

"One of the locals told Severide to be careful what did he call you sweetheart?" Morgan asked as Jay and Kelly were laughing. "We should get going, as they say, there ain't no rest for the wicked; until we closed our eyes for good," Zoey said quoting one of her favourite songs. "Did you just?" Jay asked smiling at her and catching her song quote. "I did indeed, There's a lot to me you still haven't figured out," she said with a smile as she walked over to her boyfriend and pressed her lips to his. "I can't wait to learn it all, I love you Zo," he said softly as he kissed her again. 

A smile formed on Zoey's lips, "I love you too, I'll call you when I can." She said as she walked over to the door. "Love you too Kells," Zoey said as she and Morgan walked out the front door and over to one of the couple SUVs the team rented while they were here. "You ready?" Morgan asked as she fastened her seat belt in the passenger seat. "Yup," she replied before they took off towards the airport.
