Jay parked the red Ferarri outside the hospital in the parking lot before he and Zoey started walking into the ED hand in hand. The blonde smiled as they walked through the sliding glass doors and inside the building. The two went to walk over to the counter when Dr. Halstead spotted them. "There's my favourite patient even though time management is definitely not your department," Will said walking over causing her to laugh. "Only when it comes to work, takes me 2 hours to get ready for a dinner but I get a call and I can be changed and to the airport in 6 minutes," Zoey said. "Speaking of work, have you been resting?" he asked as the ginger-haired doctor led Zoey and Jay to a treatment room.

"Yes, thanks to your brother," Zoey said, "Any sudden pain when you breathe or move?" Will asked, "Not really," the blonde replied earning a look from both Will and Jay. "You have the same look, that irritated little brow raise you both do," Zoey said casually. "Could you stop profiling us to change the subject?" Jay said. "I was not, I'm just stating that you both make similar facial expressions," Zoey replied. "Zoey, do your ribs hurt when you move or breathe?" Will asked again as Zoey shook her head no. "I feel normal, feel like I could go take down a couple of unsubs maybe suplex one or two of them," Zoey said earning a chuckle from the brothers. "You laugh but I've suplexed an unsub, There's a reason why Morgan called me superwoman," Zoey said laughing. "Really?" Jay asked surprised, "Yea, that and I do a lot of reckless superhero shit as he'd put it."Zoey said shrugging.

Will did some X-rays and a CT scan of Zoey's head making sure that her injuries were healing which they were. "This is awesome, You're ribs have almost fully healed there no sign of a concussion anymore either," the ginger-haired doctor says. "So I can get back to work soon?" Zoey said, "Unfortunately not for a while still- Okay but I feel fine what about desk work?" She suggested. "I don't know- Not to be crude but if I can fuck your brother like nothings wrong with me, I'm pretty sure I can sit at a desk filling out paperwork," Zoey's statement made Jay chuckle as his eyes went wide at the unexpected comment. Will didn't really know what to say either. "Um yeah, I guess you'd be alright doing desk work but I'm not clearing you for fieldwork for another 2 months maybe longer depending on how much you overdo it," Will said. "Trust me when I say my boss isn't gonna let me near the field until you clear me," Zoey said knowing how overly worried Hotch is especially when it comes to his team.

Will smiled at the comment, "Good, I'm gonna go finish filling these out then fax them over to your work. Your good to go just take it easy and if the pain started to return come back and we'll go from there," the ginger-haired doctor said before he walked out of the room sending Jay a look.

Zoey stood up from her sitting position on the hospital bed as her and Jay started walking out of the room. "So... when did you wanna start moving some of your stuff?" the detective asked causing Zoey to pause as they walked through the sliding doors outside the hospital. "Like into your apartment?" the blonde asked stupidly already knowing his answer. "Well yea," Jay said looking at Zoey as she continued walking over to her Ferarri without a word. "Hey, what's going through your mind?" he asked noticing her mood change a bit after he mentioned her moving some stuff into his place.

"Nothing," she said before climbing into the car, Jay climbed in the driver's seat closing the door behind him before looking over toward his blonde girlfriend. "Zo, talk to me I wanna help. I promise," he said causing her to let out a shaky breath. "I work so much, my job can cause me to up and leave at any time to go anywhere and..." She said staring at the dashboard. "I was not around enough to be there for Jack maybe I could've stopped his spiral- Zoey, you couldn't have saved Jack from who he was. If you were here more chances are the same things would've happened," Jay said. "But I should have seen it coming Jay, I'm a profiler. I spent my whole life studying behaviour, how people talk and yet I didn't see that coming?! And he changes so fast after we moved in," Jay could hear the pain in her voice as she tried not to cry.

So that's what this was about, she was afraid to get close to somebody again like that. "Zoey, I promise you that you never have to worry about that ever again. I don't exactly know what he did to you Zo, and when you're ready to talk about it I'll be there, but you gotta know you couldn't have stopped him or changed him and the truth is he never deserved you in the first place." Jay said as Zoey closed her eyes for a moment.

"He was always a pissed of drunk just not violent just would say the meanest things and tear me down..." Zoey started. "Zo, you don't have to- No you have the right to know why I'm so screwed up Jay," she said cutting him off. The detective sighed, "You're not screwed up Zo, you've just been through a lot," Jay said. "I'd come home for 2 hours sometimes maybe cook something but half the time I'd get the call and I'd be flying out to solve a case. I didn't have time to clean the entire house and that pissed Jack off and he... just lost it." Zoey said.

Jay was watching her with sadness on his face as she spoke through the tears that were now just continuously falling down her face. "That was the first time he'd ever put his hands on me. He smashed glass everywhere and I went to walk away and he just dragged me across the room by my hair over the glass." Zoey took a sharp breath. "He just started kicking me in the ribs over and over again yelling about the stupid dishes. He choked me out and I don't remember anything after until I woke up on the floor in the kitchen. He left me there and passed out drunk and left me to clean the mess," Zoey didn't even wanna look at Jay's reaction to what happened. She never told anyone about it in detail. She was embarrassed it happened, she was mad that she let herself be in a situation like that.

"You never, ever have to worry about that ever again Zoey. As for your job I understand you gotta go save the day. It's what we do, it's in our DNA or something. As for our home, it's not just gonna land on you to take care of everything, we're a team Zo and we're in this together good or bad," Jay said as Zoey looked at him surprised by his answer as tears continued to fall down her cheeks.

The detective leaned over and wiped the stray tears as he looked into Zoey's bright blue eyes, "I love you" he said softly as the blonde gazed into his mesmerizing greenish-blue eyes. "I love you too," she said softly as he closed the space between them pressing his lips onto hers. Zoey smiled at the detective she was head over heels for.

The sound of Jay's phone is what caused the two to stop locking lips, the detective smirked at her before reaching for the device and pressing answer. "Halstead, yea. I'm on my way," was all he said before hanging up. "Got a case?" Zoey asked earning a sigh and small nod. "Well head over to the district I'll head back to my house and start packing some of my stuff from there," Zoey suggested. "You sure?" he asked, "Yea, I wouldn't mind saying hey to Antonio," she replied as Jay nodded starting the Ferarri and began driving towards the district.
