Mason 🎸
My life's in shambles. Okay, that's a little dramatic considering that my band broke up. But I don't know what to do with my future, my career and my life going forward. So I do the only reasonable thing and run as far as I can go - to Aus...

"This place is self-catered?" he asks incredulously when we reach our cabin and he sees the built-in kitchen. "I thought this was supposed to be a vacation."
Rathi and Danny's howls echo through the mostly wooden cabin. I roll my slightly swollen lips into my mouth and run my tongue along the bottom one where I can still taste him before releasing it and curling it into a gleeful smile. This man is such a diva.
Why do I feel so attracted to him? There's this pull inside me that draws me near him. A pull that also sits low in my belly and makes me feel empty, tingly all over and... prurient. Is that even the right word? Argh, I can't blame it on alcohol anymore. It's more for me too.
"We have chemistry. There's something explosive between us. I can feel it."
His words before I kissed him – again – reverberate through my mind. Well, I can feel it too, the explosiveness between us. Like fire meeting gasoline. It's either good or it will fucking consume and destroy me.
Danny's slap on Mason's shoulder kicks me out of my thoughts, "Mate, you've been on vacation for two months and you still complain about a little work?"
"I'd just appreciate all the information prior to the events," Mason complains, pulling out his light pink hair tie to redo his bun.
Upon seeing it, something sitting beneath my heart flips. He's really using the hair ties. I got them for him as a joke. He's such a man's-man who wouldn't choose anything pink or lilac colored for himself, but he's not ashamed to wear them.
"We take turns cooking dinner," Rathi diplomatically chimes in. "That means it's your turn only once. And you can order in."
Mason nods, still looking irritated as he takes the rest of our log cabin in. It's an open space with a simple kitchen unit, brown leather couches and bulkier, a little outdated wood furniture. There are three bedrooms, two with a queen-sized bed and one with two single beds and a bathroom we'll all have to share. But the big terrasse facing the bush setting is making up for that minor inconvenience because the view is beautiful. And if you're lucky you can even spot a few wild animals.
Mason takes the smaller double bedroom next to the room I'll be sharing with April and disappears. I would've preferred to have shared a room with Chase and Luke, but they deserve a little privacy too. I'll manage with April's advances and antiques for a few days.
Dropping my bag off on a bed by the window, I unpack a few things and hang up my wetsuit before heading back to the living area where Rathi, our group-mom, unloads a few essentials like oil, spices and instant coffee, checking the cupboards for things other guests might have left behind. She finds a pack of cube sugar and holds it up with a triumphant "ha ha".
"Are going on our grocery run?" she asks, giving me a cheeky brow wiggle.
"Yup," I reply, snatching a car key off the table and heading to the door.
