Over the next few days, Skull kept Hibari busy with training.
He was certainly happy when fighting a strong opponent. He would even refuse a day off just to spar against Skull.
When a little bird came down to Skull, he gained a frown.
"Looks like our uninvited guests are here sooner than I thought. The problem child must've used his intuition." Skull said getting Hibari's attention.

Although the matches started off with Ryohei winning the Sun Match and the Lightning match being forfeited, Skull had an uneasy feeling. For some reason, he thought it was too strange for the Ninth to suddenly change his mind and declare Xanxus to be his Successor when he already sent Reborn to train Sawada.
Telling this to Reborn, the hitman became suspicious as well. While Reborn was known to be the Strongest Arcobaleno, Skull was the most Observant and Perceptive. He could tell faster than Reborn when something fishy was going on, and this situation was falling into that category.
Skull took time to properly watch Xanxus during the Rain Match, and sighed.
"This whole battle is a farce." He simply said to Reborn and Colonello.
They looked at Skull in confusion.

After the climax of the Sky Battle, everyone was surprised when Tsuna said that the Rings rejected Xanxus.
Reborn recalled what Skull said and realized what was going on.
"So that's what he meant."
"Skull, how did you find out, kora?"
"Let's just say he had a loud mind, denying the truth. But he still underestimated the power of the Rings." Skull smirked from under his helmet.

After the Ring Conflict, Skull walked to catch a plane. Normally he would apparate, but his strength was used for training Hibari.
"Oi, you're not sticking around for the party?" Reborn asked.
"Yeah, I do have to train Calcassa Don's kids and I promised I'd head over as soon as this conflict was over." Skull said.
Reborn watched as Skull headed off with Lanchia and Basil.
Even after all these years he still can't read the Cloud Arcobaleno.
It would not be long until he wished he knew more and regret it.

Byakuran would call Skull his favorite toy since Yuni, and his scientists would draw flames from her for research.
