Arcobaleno Trials pt 4

A few days passed since Sawada passed Zephyranth's trial, and she was enjoying Namimori so far, though she could do without Hibari trying to attack her.

She was currently sleeping on the roof of Sawada's house with Fon watching Lambo and Ipin.

Then they hear a machine coming.

No doubt, Verde's.

Zephyranth looked at the machine, and sent a pulse of Cloud Flames with a little magic, making it short-circit.

Fon was surprised when when the machine was destroyed and looked at Zephyranth.

"Obviously Verde would be interested in the Vongola rings for research. No doubt he's broken the pact." Zephyranth said.

In the aftermath of Verde's 'Betrayal' Sawada finally obtained all the seals after showing his resolve to Reborn.

Zephyranth decided to stick around Namimori as she felt that they would be needed again.

Then Verde of all people appeared.

"So Skull, or rather Zephyranth, why hide your true gender?" He asked.

"Personal reasons. What would you do if you were expected to be something you really aren't, and if you do things differently, they would scorn you? And if they were always watching to see if you would succeed or screw up? And in the end, you still see no other option until it was all over? But once it was over, they would glorify you to point of calling you a legend or even a God, but never asked for it in the first place? That they expect you to be a pinnacle of perfection as they constantly deny you of want you really want and need? A position you never wanted but had to take because those around you are either not experienced enough or too cowardly or just a bunch of incompetent sheeple to finish it themselves because a so-called prophecy?" Zephyranth asked.

Honestly, Verde did not expect that question. Did the Cloud Arcobaleno went through something that made them want to hide in plain sight to point of hiding their gender?

"I would not know how to answer that question, as I've never been through such a situation." Verde admitted.

"Of course. In fact, that's the major difference between me and the rest of the Arcobaleno." Zephyranth said as she passed by Verde.

"And I learned the hard way that 'hero' is just a fancy title for 'sacrifice' before I was even legal." Zephyranth whispered in Verde's ear before leaving.

Verde felt a slight chill down his spine at that.

For once, he hesitated to investigate the Cloud Arcobaleno.

Something told him if he did, he would find something terrifying.

Next will be another time skip after Checkerface is beaten and the Curse is fully removed.

And the Arcobaleno will need a place to stay. Should Zephyranth offer her mansion as they quickly grow to their original bodies?
