I followed Mira down to the caves where her room was. I saw a lot more girls while we walked.
"Tomorrow, before you scout, Jace will take you guys around and give you some more tips, show you how things work, etc."
"Wait," I said. "Jace is going to watch us scout?"
"Yeah, is that a problem." Mira said, a smile growing on her face.
"No, not at all." I said. But I'm pretty sure my face was red.
"Jace is one of the senior scouts, he's done twenty-nine missions."
"Wow." I said.
We walked a little farther in silence.
"This is my room." Mira said opening a door.
I stopped in my tracks. It was amazing.
Two huge canopy beds with silky covers and fluffy pillows were centered in the middle of the room. On one side of the room, there was an ornate desk, the other side there was two fancy couches, with two matching arm chairs, and a wooden coffee table. There were beautiful paintings on the walls, and fine rugs in the floor. Crystal lamps made everything bright.
"It's amazing Mira." I said, in awe.
"Thanks." She said smiling. "Your bed is on the left."
"Okay."
I sat down on the bed. The covers were soft and silky, the pillows perfectly soft.
"Want a drink?"
"Yeah that would be great, thanks."
She left the room and brought back two bottles of water.
"So, are you and Cole dating?" Mira asked me.
I choked on the water I had been drinking.
"What? No, no no no, Cole is like my brother. Plus he likes my best friend, Jenna. She was taken with us here, but she was going to the King."
"Oh okay." She said.
"Are you and Jace dating?" I asked Mira.
She laughed. "No way. We're good friends, but that's all. Why, does someone have a crush?"
"Maybe," I said and bit my lip. Did I like Jace? Sure he was funny. And super cute. And nice. And-. Okay yeah. I liked him.
"Please don't tell him." I told Mira.
"I would never." Mira said, smiling.
"Thanks."
I went into the massive bathroom and changed into my spandex and gray shirt that Mira had washed for me, and went to bed.
