El was completely drunk. She was sure she would remeber nothing of the next day. But she needed this. She didn't even know who she was dancing with. When all of a sudden she was dragged away in a flash of red hair.
"Common!" Max yelled.
"Where are we going?" She whined.
"Wheelers place!"
"Oh Mike!" She laughed. El was pushed into the backseat of Wills car. Will up front. Angela up front. And her Max and Mike in the back seat.
"Mikey!" El yelled wrapping her arms around Mike.
"Wow she's wasted" Angela laughed.
Mike smiled wrapping an arm around El "You gonna be okay?"
"I am! I feel happy!" She yelled.
Max laughed shaking her head.
El rested her head on Mike's chest "your comfy" she murmured.
"Go to sleep" He said playing with her hair.
El smiled but stayed awake the whole drive.
The bunch of them went into The Wheelers basement. El was dancing around the basement to music by herself while everyone laughed watching her.
"We should play a game!" Max yelled.
"Truth or Dare?" Angela asked.
"Exactly!" Max laughed.
The boys laughed and nodded.
Max dragged El to sit down. "Okay Dustin Start" Angela stated.
Dustin nodded looking around. "Max, truth or dare?"
"Truth! I don't trust you!" She laughed.
"Have you and Lucas done the nasty?" Dustin asked.
Lucas smacked Dustin in the head
"Yes!" Max yelled earning a luagh from El.
"Why's that funny?!" Lucas yelled
"Oh its not. Max was just so happy that night she ran to my house to tell me"
Lucas laughed rolling his eyes.
"Okay! Angela Truth or dare!" Max asked.
"Dare!" She yelled.
"Okay! I dare you.. to... kiss one of the guys that aren't Mike!" She laughed.
El smiled leaning back.
"Easy" Angela stated she went forward in the circle grabbing Will planting a kiss on him.
Wills eyes went wide and everyone busted out laughing.
"Okay El! Truth or dare?" Angela asked.
"Truth!" She nodded.
"Have you ever had feelings for Mike? More then a best friend?" She asked. Angela always suspected but never could ask. But everyone was drunk and it gave her the chance. Everyone looked at El. Especially Mike.
"Yes" she shugged.
Max and Dustin's eyes went wide surprised she just admitted it like that.
"Really?" Mike asked speechless.
"Yeah, I liked you a lot for a few years. Don't worry. I'm over it" She laughed.
Mike smiled and nodded not knowing what to say.
"Angela, truth or dare" El asked.
"Truth" She said
"Why did you change Mike so much?" She asked.
Max's eyes went wide on how cocky El was being.
"Excuse me?" Angela asked.
"Whyd you change Mike? He use to be an adorable geeky sweater wearing, bike riding, nerd that we all knew and loved. And now you've turned him into a leather wearing, car driving guy"
"Oh, I just thought I'd help him get some popularity "
El nodded leaning back against the wall.
A few round went by until it was Max's turn to ask.
"Wheeler. Truth or Dare?"
"I'm gonna regret this cause it's you but... Dare" He nodded.
Max smiled and clapped "Great! I date you! To play Seven minutes in heaven with El!" She smiled.
Els eyes went wide.
Mike starred at Max.
Angela laughed "its fine. I trust you not to do anything "
Mike nodded standing up grabbing Els hand to walk her to the basement closet.
El followed in closing the door which was complete darkness but they could still see eachother.
Mike was first to speak.
"Are you telling the truth?" He whispered
"What?" She asked.
"You--You liked me? More then a friend?" He asked.
El nodded.
"Yes Mike.." she whispered
"When?" He asked.
"From 8th grade to 11th grade" She shurrged
"We are in 11th grade"
"Yes then you got a girlfriend. Don't worry Mike. Feelings are gone. Promise"
"Why--- Why didn't you tell me?" He asked.
"I wasn't gonna ruin our friendship Mike... you obviously didn't like me back. It's fine. I'll find someone promise" She smiled up at him.
He just couldn't beileve it. El Hopper liked him for years and she never told him.
"Two minutes left!" Dustin yelled from outside of the closest.
Mike took a deep breath. He knew he shouldn't but he had to see. To see if there was anything there that he didn't know about.
He grabbed Els face with his hands pulling her in. His lips met hers at first, softly, but as seconds went by it turned more harsh and fast. Els hands ruched behind him gripping at his hair. His hands finding her waist pulling her close. Thier lips chased eachother repeatedly.
"20 seconds!" Dustin yelled.
With that warning Mike pulled away wiping any lipstick marks that mightve remained on his face. El grabbed the lipstick from her bra reapplying her lipstick. They didn't even look at eachother. Nor say a word. Dustin opened the closet and they walked out.
"How was that?" He smiled.
"Fine. We just talked" Mike shurgged.
Dustin nodded and El sat next to Max. Emotionless.
"Well I think it's time to go El" Will said pointing to his watch.
El nodded standing up again.
"I'm gonna walk them out" Mike whispered to Angela who nodded. Will went out to the car first and Mike walked El outbthe door. When he closed the door he grabbed her elbow.
"El..." He said softly.
She turned and looked at him "Don't worry Mike... I won't tell her..." She whispered.
With that Mike nodded and let her go. He watched them drive away and cursed to himself.
"Fuck..."
What was he suppose to do. Here he had a girlfriend who made him come out of his comfort zone. She was a pretty cool girl. Then there was a girl who he's been best friends with for years did he screw it up? Should he have not kissed her?
He was so confused. Thier kiss was amazing. Mike never felt like that before. But that was also his best friend. And she said she didn't have feelings anymore.
