Grade 11 was finally over.
Mike was finally released form the hospital with a full recovery.
El was back living in Hawkins.
The party was back together.
El stayed by Mike's side until he was released form the hospital. She was happy she had her best friend back.
Right now they were all heading out ro Benny's for breakfast.
El and Mike led the group laughing at dumb jokes that they would tell to eachother, occasionally nudging eachother off the street.
"Remind me why they won't date?" Max whispered to Will.
"They think it's better this way I guess" he shurgged.
El looped her arm through Mikes basically pulling him faster.
"Damn Woman what's your rush?" He laughed.
"Waffles! Waffles are my rush!" She yelled very seriously.
Mike laughed trying to keep up with her.
The party sat down in a large booth waiting for thier breakfast.
"Oh my god guys! I forgot! I got news!" Lucas yelled
Everyone looked in his direction.
"It's our last summer before senior year, my parents have a summer home by the water which they aren't using, they told us we could use it for a week before school, still a few weeks away but I just wanted to make sure everyone kept their schedules clear"
Everyone smiled highfiving him
"This is gonna be the best summer ever!" El smiled wiggling in her seat.
Mike smiled at her excitement.
Els waffles arrived and he clapped making Mike laugh.
"Waffles can't seriously be that good El.. they don't even come with bacon" Mike laughed.
El gasped hitting his shoulder "don't insult my waffles!! I love them! I'd married them if I could!"
Mike shook his head rolling his eyes.
"Your a strange one" He laughed.
"Yeah well your stick with me" She smiled stocking her tongue out.

Movie Night at the Byers Hopper household.
Max suggested scary movie night, which El hated. She hated anything scary.
She was sitting between Mike and Will on the couch her usual spot. Suddenly there was a jump scare and El screeched jumping and turning her face into Mike's chest making him laugh. She cling onto his arm tightly until he told her it was clear.
"You should be good for a bit" he whispered.
El loosened her grip and smiled up at him "Thank you.." she whispered.
That night ended up in a sleepover. Lucas.and Max fell asleep on the chair. Dustin on the floor. Will actually made his way to his bedroom. And El had fallen asleep on Mike. Mike though was wide awake. He played with her hair while holding her up. He wanted so much more. But he wanted to respect her decision.

Swimming at the Quarry.
Mike and Lucas were laid out in the sun on beach chairs by the quarry. The girls, Dustin and Will were in the water.
Mike kept his eyes glued on El. He figured he was wearing sunglasses and that nobody would be able to tell.
"Enjoying the view?" Lucas asked with a smirk on his face.
"What?" Mike asked snapping out of his thoughts.
"El... Red bikini... Wet from the water..." Lucas smiled.
"I don't know what your going on about" Mike sighed picking back up his magazine about gutairs
"Dude! I'm not blind. You haven't taken your eyes off of her" Lucas laughed.
Mike sighed "Yeah she's hot" he shurgged.
"Mike.. tell her how your feeling man.."
"I can't. I won't ruin this again. I love her too much" Mike sighed.
Lucas nodded accepting his choice. He then looked back up to El who was spinning on circles in the water laughing causing him to smile.
Will and Dustin yelled for Mike and Lucas to go in, ao they did. They both ran in as fast as they could trying to catch up to them. Mike turned for a second to say something to Will before he got attacked.
"Got you!" El yelled jumping into Mike's back making him yell from the cold water hitting his dry back.
El laughed running off "oh no you don't!" He yelled running after her. He grabbed her by the waist and she screamed trying to kick. He laughed pulling her up out of the water her back against hai chest.
"Let me go!" She screamed laughing.
"Never!!" He yelled laughing.

The party was walking around Hawkins at night. They had nothing to do but they wanted to hang out. Mike and Lucas were walking in front of El and Max laughing about whatever guy thing they were talking about it.
"Are you guys having sex?" Max whispered.
"What?!" El whispered yelled back.
"You and Mike. Are you guys sleeping together?"
"Are you insane?! No!" She yelled low enough only for Max's ears.
"You guys just seem really happy with eachother"
"Yeah we are. Just as friends though. It seems like it's always been better this way" el shurgged.
"I don't know El.. I think you guys could do it. Nothing's in the way anymore"
"I don't think so Max. I love him too much to risk it" she sighed.
"Come on girl! Keep up!" Mike yelled from in front of them.
El smiled running and jumping onto Mike's back.
Mike smiled catching her hiking her up to give her a piggy back ride.
"If I'm going too slow then give me a ride" she laughed in his ear.
"Hold on!" He laughed as he started running his her on his back.
She laughed tightening her grip around him so she didn't fall off.
He made thier way to a Empty park and set her down.
"Enjoy the ride?" He asked.
"Very much. Thank you" She laughed.
The group arrived not long after and decided to ask like kids on the playground. El smiled watching them all from a park bench.
This summer has honestly been perfect. She was so happy. Summer was close to ending and senior year was about to start. And she was gonna have the best senior year ever.
They soon leave for Lucas's parents beach house for a week. And she couldn't wait.
