Lol, I can make this story take place in the time before Kara betrays the Potatoes, but when Kara does know the Potatoes. We can just assume she's absent for now

Aru rolled her eyes. "Ok, Doctor Mini. What should we do then?"

Before Mini could answer, Brynne cut in. "Why don't we play Truth or Dare?"

Aru considered this for a moment. It sounded really fun, but... she glanced quickly where Aiden was sitting. Brynne and Mini would totallyyyy try to ship her and Aiden. She felt her cheeks turn warm. Did she really care that much, though?

Yes. Of course I do.

Aru internally rolled her eyes. Shut up, me.

The other voice replied, We're the same person. I can't shut up.

Just be quiet. Bruh why am I even arguing with myself?

You tell me.

We're the same!

You're still the weirder part. Just be quiet.

You sound like Brynne.

You sound like you should be quiet before you say something stupid and I exploit you.

Aru mentally spluttered to her evil counterpart. How would you even blackmail me?

The other voice let out the maniacal, mental (in the sense of telepathy and insanity) cackle she usually reserved for pranks. I have my ways. I could make you say something very weird to a certain half-apsara with those "celestial eyes".

Stop–

-Like "I know where you live!"

She winced physically at that painful memory.

Would you leave me alone if I agreed to Truth or Dare?

Probably.

Aru sighed. Better than nothing, I guess. She shut off her mental conversation and carefully asked through the mind link, Can you guys please not be too embarrassing if we play?

The only response that she got was twin evil grins from Brynne and Mini, and choked back laughter from Nikita and Sheela. Rolling her eyes, Aru sighed.

"Fineeee," she laughed. "Only if everyone plays, though."

"Of course, of course," Mini said, managing to keep a straight face.

"C'mon, ammamma, let's go to the living room to play. I brought cards," said Brynne with a grin. (Hey, that rhymed! Gj me :)

Aiden reluctantly followed, whining to Brynne about how she couldn't make him do anything too embarrassing. Brynne just replied with an even more evil grin, which did not bode well for Aiden (or, Aru thought, in hindsight, the rest of the Potatoes, but especially Aru).

Brynne let out an evil laugh as they sat down in a circle on the rug, the order being Brynne, Aiden, Aru, Rudy, Mini, Sheela, and Nikita. Brynne rubbed her hands together like a villain.

AIDEN/ARU POV (It will switch, sometimes two different perspectives on the same moment)

"All right, who wants to go first?" Brynne said, still grinning. "You guys can use the cards if you want or come up with your own dares and stuff." Brynne leaned over to whisper something into Aiden's ear, something Aru couldn't hear, but Aiden turned red and immediately shrank away. Brynne laughed and said, "I'll start. So, Aiden, truth or dare?"

Aiden muttered something that sounded like i hate you so much but eventually, grudgingly said, "Dare, I suppose."

Brynne cackled. "I dare you to..." She paused dramatically, and then said, "Would you prefer if I whispered it in the presence of certain someones?"

Aiden turned into a tomato and grumbled, "You're so mean. But fine."

As Brynne leaned over to Aiden, she whispered something that Aru could only hear bits of. Aru heard the word "she" with all the italics. At first her heart beat faster, and she could feel a sudden rush of tingles in her stomach. But she reminded herself, They're probably talking about some random, beautiful girl he likes. Not me, and then she felt strangely empty.

She lowered her voice, but Aru still caught the words "... do something with her... have you-"

And then, Aiden cut her off, probably for the best. "NOPE! WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT HER."

And then, he clamped his mouth shut.
