They had finally let me go home. “They” being the people at Weighington Hospital. They told me that my mom and dad wanted to see me and that maybe I would remember more when I saw them. So Uncle Sam drove me over to 641 Wellsingberg Lane and dropped me off. I walked inside feeling like a stranger and saw… a dog. I may have been afraid of dogs before, but I wasn’t now. I checked the collar, Butterscotch was this dog’s name. Suddenly, memories started flowing back to me, how I met Butterscotch, how she greeted me when I came home from school every day, her coming on walks with me, and more. Now I remembered my dog. “Hi Butterscotch! Did you miss me?” I exclaimed. Butterscotch barked happily and wagged their tail. I hear a door opening somewhere and footsteps which I guessed meant someone was coming to see who came into their house. I thought that they knew I was here because the door wasn’t locked, but now I started getting worried that they thought I was an intruder. A woman with brown and blonde hair came into the room holding a baseball bat. When the woman saw me, she charged.

Well, she didn’t exactly “charge”, see she put the baseball bat down and ran over and hugged me. She said, “Ali, I'm so glad you’re home.” I racked my mind trying to remember her name but I could not. The women noticed the silence and questioned, “are you okay?”
I said, “Are you, my mom?”
She looked shocked but said, “Yes. I am.” I nodded and told her everything that I could remember.

“So… you lost your memory?” my mom asked. I nodded. “Well, since you remembered Butterscotch, hopefully, you’ll remember us soon,” my mom said kind of sadly.
