Hold up.

Did I read that correctly? Did he just-

NO WAY.

Is this some sick joke? He couldn't possibly like like me in a couple of days. We just started chatting like what- five days ago? And now he's saying that he likes me?

This is unbelievable.

I scrambled and shakily typed in my reply.

Romina: Like as in like LIKE or like me as a friend like? Lol do you get me or no?

I was shaking waiting for his reply. I mean, come on. He's fucking handsome and very charming. He's funny and witty too. I enjoy every conversation we have together but I don't think it's possible to like someone in a couple of days time. Is it?

I felt my phone buzzed and I quickly grabbed it from the bedside desk provided by the hotel.

Matt: First one.

Butterflies erupted from my stomach and I felt like my brain was being lifted into cloud nine. My heart was thumping loudly in my chest and it was all that I could hear; my heart beating.

I guess it was possible to like someone in a short period of time because guess what? I liked him too.

The moment he read my reply, I knew he was smiling to himself. I could feel it. I just told him that I liked him too. Who wouldn't be ecstatic to know that the person you liked, feels the same way? I sure am.

We've been hitting it off since the first time we talked. It wasn't hard to like Matt. Each conversation we had was entertaining. It was full of intellect, humor, and occasional flirting.

In all honesty though, I never expected to find something or someone, rather, like this online. I mean, the internet is more or less eighty-three percent full of crappy, thirsty, idiotic people. Luckily, I met someone like Matt who was on the seven percent of the decent human beings online. I thought it was a really bad idea at first, but now, I'm beginning to thank Monica in my head for introducing me to the site.

Hesitantly enough, I said good night to Matt. We both needed sleep and it was quite late already.

The next day, the girls and I were up early for a morning swim. My eyes were burning and I was light headed due to lack of sleep but I managed to have fun anyways. After that, we had our breakfast at the hotel's restaurant. Much to our delight, they were serving a buffet. We stuffed our plate with as much food as we can and devoured it all like animals who haven't eaten in days. After we all packed our things up, we checked out of the hotel and went on our separate ways.

I was happily snuggled up in my bed with the air conditioning in full blast. Summer wasn't even here yet but I could sure feel her heat. To say that it was hot as hell is an understatement.

Ariana Grande was blasting through my laptop when Monica called me on FaceTime. I haven't talked to her for quite a while. She had been busy with her training. We would leave quick messages here and there but it's been so long since we had an actual chit chat.

"Babe! I'm surprised you called" I told her while a smile was working its way on my face.

I could literally see her rolling her eyes while I said that, "Do you want me to put this down then? You don't seem happy to be hearing from me"

Now that deserved an eye roll from me. "Of course I am bitch! We haven't talked in like forever! I missed you!". I really did miss her. She was like my other half and she was the only person to whom I could open really up to without being judged. I love that bitch so much.

I heard her laugh over the line. When she finally caught her breath, she said, "So tell me what's been going on with you? By that, I'm really asking about your love life".

I felt the heat rush up to my cheeks and for a second, I caught myself smiling at the thought of him alone. The silence didn't go unnoticed by Monica of course, which made her to believe that there was someone making my heart beat a little faster. I was about to explain myself when she let out a very loud squeal of excitement.

"OH MY GOD! There is someone! Tell me right now woman. It's not Juanca is it?"

It's definitely not Juanca. Damn, has it been so long since I last had a gossip sesh with my main chick? I need to fill her in on a lot of stuff. "No, it's not Juanca. We haven't even talked for like a month now. It's a different guy."

Cue the smile spreading on my face.

By the time Monica and I were done talking on the phone, my mouth had gone dry and I was desperately in need of cold water.

I haven't seen my mom around the house lately, so I was shocked to find her sitting on the sofa in the living room, watching a intensely dramatic Korean movie.

Seeing as she was engrossed with it, I headed straight for the kitchen and grabbed myself a cold, thirst quenching glass of water. Scratch that, I didn't drink just a glass, but a whole pitcher of it.

I slid beside my mom on the couch and asked her what she was watching. Apparently, it was about this guy who hired a girl to be his pretend fiancé. I've heard one or two dramas like that before. And we all know that the pretending would eventually lead to the real thing. I've missed watching Korean dramas with my mom though. I stopped watching it when I became busy in school, but now I'm happy to be here sitting and watching with her; even if it's just for a while.

When the show ended, I went back up to my room. Mom promised to call me once she was done cooking our dinner.

My phone made a buzzing sound on the desk, telling me that it vibrated and that I received a message. I grabbed it and was happy to find a message from Matt. It's funny because I don't even know his real name and yet, I like him. I have a lot of getting to know him to do.

Matt: Hey sexy ;)

I laughed at his lame attempt to flirt. Or maybe I just found it cute, that's why I laughed.

Romina: Hey hot stuff :P

Matt: What's going on?

Romina: I was wondering what your real name was. Is it just Matt or is it short for Matthew?

Matt: It's short for Matthew. My name's Matthew Lewis Wilson.

Romina: Hah! I knew it. Lol

Fuck, his name was hot. It sounded fancy too -- but of course it would! I'm betting he's rich too. Working for his dad's company? How could he nonchalantly say that to me? Like having a company run by their family wasn't a big thing. He told me this like two days ago and there are still loads of questions bugging my mind. I guess I'd have to let time be the key here. I don't want to seem eager by bombarding him with lots of questions.

Matt: And yours?

Romina: It's Romina Camille Santiago. Ugly name, I know.

Romina: You know what's funny?

Matt: It's a beautiful name baby. What's so funny?

I felt my cheeks heat up. He called me baby. I know it's not a big deal, but right now, to me it is. I haven't been in the dating realm for quite a while (is this even called dating?) and I'm not used to having pet names again. Or maybe it's because I like him and him giving me endearing nicknames is making my heart beat faster. Either way, it's making me squirm in a good way.

Romina: We should've introduced ourselves formally when we first started chatting. Hahaha.

Matt: But then, I wouldn't have been getting bonus points from you if we did ;)

Good Lord. This boy is going to be the death of me, I'm sure of it.

And we've only been chatting for a week.

Kind of a lame chapter, I know and I'm sorry! :(

And I'm also sorry for the wait! I promise the next chapter would be better.
