The days have been shallow and slow. We had to clean the entire city, well thankfully not alone as many folk in the city helped fix up the place. Sleeping in the park with our dragon. The poor big boy was still hurt and sick so he was always resting but came to the parks at night for a big snuggle. " I feel like I'm not doing enough" I sniffled as Lloyd looked at me and hugged me. " Were kids, we cant do a lot right now but you're doing more than asked for! Sure maybe you cant make objects move but those that are alive like the animals or plants seem to listen!" Lloyd mentioned and smiled. I smiled back and before I could thank him, the boys came over and scooped us up to look at apartments. " Umm isn't there a long waiting list to get into-" " Nya knows too many people" Jay just sighed

" This one-bedroom, one-half-bath is a cozy dream. Who needs extras when everything is in arm's reach? Now, wait until you see the lighting." The lady, Patty, tried to sell us but the light she turned on just flickered and broke. I gulped as she nervously laughed, "Uh, who needs lights when you have this view? Heh." She opened the window to a brick wall. I cringed. "Uh, why do I smell old people?" Lloyd asked. "Look, doll. I'm trying to work around your budget. This is all you can afford." She snapped annoyed and I hid behind Lloyd. "Uh, this looks...promising. Remember, guys, Sensei told us our main objective is to train Lloyd, not kick our feet up in some swanky suite. If this is all we can afford, this is all we can afford." Cole smiled.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, let's not rush into any decision. I mean, if it's really all about Lloyd, don't we need to live in some place that'll make training easier?" Jay tried. " Yeah, Jay's right. If we have to get Lloyd ready to save Ninjago from his father, shouldn't he at least have his own room?" Kai was trying too and Zane was about to spoil it but Kai punched him. "We're only thinking about the children, hehe." Jay put me on his shoulders. "You sold me out when Wu came back you ain't thinking about the children's feelings," I whispered as Jay sweated. " I do have another property that you'll just love." Patty smirked.

"Now, this is the eight-bedroom Hero Suite. Floor-to-ceiling windows, digital wall television, state-of-the-art game console-" Patty introduced. It was nice, but I didn't like it. Too shiny, too clean, too...rich. I grew up on a farm, this wasn't what a home should be. "Uh, it seems a little out of our price range." Cole noticed as Jay bonked my head on a doorway because I was on his shoulders. "Oh, sure it costs a little more, but you deserve it. I forgot to mention, there's also a Dragon keep on the roof." She tried to sell it to us. "Maybe we can get a hero discount. After all, we are the ninja who saved the city." Jay smirked but it was shot down when she mentioned Lord Garmadon. The ninjas mentioned jobs but then remembered training Lloyd. " Did I mention the in-house training facility?" She opened up a large training room as the boys mentioned they'll take it. Now I have the job of training Lloyd as child labor is frowned upon.

And that's how it was, Jay delivered pizzas, Cole worked at a bank, Zane cooked, and Kai worked at kids' parties while I had to try and teach Lloyd. " Oh I don't know a thing about training people nor am I even confident I do things right!" I panicked and slouched in my seat as Lloyd and I ate some slightly burned eggs I had to cook since the boys had to work early. Lloyd shut up about the taste as he knew I was trying too hard. " I think you're doing a good job" He shoved some eggs into his mouth. " And the eggs taste better than anything served at Darklys." Lloyd snickered as I smiled a bit. " Really?" " I swear they severed as processed or vegan eggs on cold toast. It looked like a British meal if it had beans" I laughed as Lloyd smiled, he liked seeing my laugh.

Lloyd punched a punching bag that knocked him over as I poured ice into a bucket Cole had his feet in. "My feet... I can't feel my feet." Cole groaned. "There was so many of them. And they wouldn't stop." Kai now had PTSD. Zane oiled his arm and rolled it, "Ugh, my gears locked up several times. I didn't even know my gears could lock up." " I don't even have enough energy to play video games." Jay groaned as he laid on the floor. "Oh, but I thought you were going to train me when you got home." Lloyd frowned as I went in the kitchen and put some instant noodles in the microwave. Thank goodness for Chen's Noodles house, they got real cheap instant noodles that still taste good. " Sorry, champ, but we can't until we make rent. How close are we, Jay?" Cole asked. "Huh, is this jar getting bigger?" Jay shook the jar. " Were not even close!" " And our rent is due tomorrow" Zane realized. " 4 boys cant even pay rent together? Either Ninjago minimum wage is horrible or this place is a fortune" I mumbled as I changed out the cups of noodles.

The boys mentioned what they could do to make more money, "And maybe I can make a little extra if I do the human piñata." Kai said as we all stared in terror. " Don't ask" he groaned. "Great, then our priorities are set. Tomorrow.. we make rent." Cole smiled as Lloyd asked about him and me, aww he worries about me too. " How about you help out and fetch me some more ice, huh?" Cole smiled as he sighed and joined me in the kitchen. " What do we have to drink?" Lloyd asked me. " Water and caprisun" I looked in the fridge which had very little. " Capri sun me. fruit punch" Lloyd grabbed more ice and went to Cole. I took out 4 waters and two capri suns. I gave out drinks then dinner, getting thank yous all around. " You're like a little housewife" Kai laughed as I tilted my head. " I'm used to helping around, I did it a lot" I mumbled as I sat on the couch too, eating. " Yes but this is extreme for someone as young as you and I'm sorry we have to leave meals and training Lloyd all to you (Y/n)"Zane pat my head. " Yeah, it is a bit much. When we make rent we'll get ice cream" Jay promised and pat my head. I smiled, " Thanks, guys."

Lloyd and I were taking a short break to play some games. You know, kid stuff. I yawned as I helped Lloyd defeat a boss. I paused as I sat up straight as listened in. Something was lowering and there was a blUE SERPENT INT HE REFLECTION OF THE TV. I gasped and whipped around was cut into the glass. Lloyd saw too and we ran to the door but it was locked. " OPEN LOCK PLEASE!" I shouted as I tried to unscamble the code I forgot Kai mentioned to me. " What do you want with us!" Lloyd shouted as I cried. "You sssseem to be the only thing your father cares about." Awww " But with you in my hostage, he'll have no other choice but to let me lead the Serpentine!" Skales told us as he slithered closer to us. " And the girl seemsssss to be close to the ninja, so it will be quite a ssssurprise to sssee her gone too!" Skales cornered us. "Hello? What's going on in there?" Wu asked as I screamed making Lloyd and Skales cover their ears The door was unlocked by Nya as she kinda beat the shit out of Skales repeatedly as Wu made sure we were ok and gave me some tissues. Wu called the police as Nya did not stop slamming his foot into Skales.

" Lloyd?" " (Y/n)?" " Their not here" The boys assessed as they looked around. "Oh, we shouldn't have left them" Kai sighed. " We shouldn't have taken those jobs in the first place. What were we thinking? Losing Lloyd and (Y/n) was by far our greatest loss." Cole frowned. " We burdened (Y/n) with the responsibility of basically because Lloyds mom that we didn't even notice that she would be tired too and, and couldn't help much is someone broke in" Jay frowned and looked down. " This was definitely our greatest mistake.." "But it could be your greatest lesson." The boys quickly looked up as Wu walked over with the two of us. "You're okay!" They shouted happy to see us.

I yawned as Lloyd spoke, "We weren't going to be, until Nya and Sensei showed up at the last moment." Lloyd mentioned. "I go away for a day and everything falls apart." Nya rolled her eyes. " I guess you could say we learned we don't need all the fancy stuff. We just need each other." Kai smiled. " You want us to help you clean up?" Wu raised a brow and when Kai pretty much said yes he suggested a road trip to nya. "Hold on, I got a better idea." Cole mentioned.

We moved into the first apartment. "It's not much, but this one-bedroom, one-half-bath is a cozy dream. Who needs extras when everything is in arm's reach?" Cole restated as we moved in the little we had. The ninja didn't let me help and instead with the rent they saved up, Jay took a lil bit to buy me an ice cream which I really enjoyed. "Ha, feels like home to me. Hey, at least we get to stay in Ninjago City for a little while." Jay chuckled. "And now without the distractions, we can put all of our energy into training Lloyd." Zane said as he helped Lloyd move a chair. " I know the Serpentine Generals got away, but you never told us: whatever happened to Skales?" Kai asked. "Oh, he found a home, too. But it's not quite as roomy as here." wu chuckled. " Prison and he got beat up by Nya" I mentioned and licked my ice cream. Lloyd snicked as I smiled. Fun day
