Lucas

Bring Micky to the store with me was definitely a bad idea. He's my brother Ricky's son. But my brother was in the Army and he died over seas last July. Micky's mom was never really in the picture after the first month she just kinda split. Ricky put in his Will that I was to take on the roll of guardian due to the fact that I'm his god father.

"Mickey?! Put that down please! You are going to break it!" I say to Micky. "Mickey De La Rocha deja eso ahora! Me entiendes?" Mickey is smiling at me holding a glass jar of salsa.

"Daddy! Daddy! Sal-sa" he says stuttering a bit. "Yes mijo it's salsa but please hand it to daddy before you break it." I tell Mickey as I start walking towards him slowly and grab the jar out of his hand.

"See Micky was that so hard?" I say picking him up. I hear something drop and I see a girl I go to school with looking at me like she's seen a ghost.

"I... I... I won't say anything I promise!" She says ducking quickly to retrieve her dropped cell phone. Getting up she hit her head on the cart handle hard.

"Are you okay there Torres?" I ask. I'm surprised I even know her last name even though I kinda know her ass of a brother. "Uhh yea I'm fine." She say rubbing the back of her head. I start walk towards her and put Micky down before I stand behind her to look at her head.

"You know this would be much easier if you just moved your hand." I place a hand on her wrist and gently pull it away. I feel shivers run through her body. She's really pretty even though it looks like she got no sleep last night.

"Papi?! Who dis?" Micky says in a low-ish voice. Smiling Torres bends down and holds her hand out to Mickey, he smiles wide showing her his tiny front teeth.

"Hi I'm Nia what's your name?" She say softly. She has the voice of an angel. "Me Micky!" He says walking into Nia's arms hugging her around the neck rather than taking her outstretched hand. "It's nice to meet you Micky. Cuantos años tienes mijo?" She says hugging him back.

"Yo estoy two!" He says giggling into her neck before her letting go. "Papi she pwetty!" He says walking up to Me with outstretched arms to get picked up.

"Micky! Niño calmado por favor." I say and Nia smiles and laughs. Even her laugh is amazing! 'What the hell is wrong with you Lucas?!' I think to myself. "I didn't know you had a son. He's adorable. Haha and quite talkative too." She says looking me in the eye like she can see into my soul.

"Uh... Yea he's... Mine. I uh I gotta go. Um Torres? I uh what's your first name?" I say uncomfortably asking her name even though I already know it. I just want to hear her voice again. "Papi! Papi! Nia!" Micky says pointing at her with his little fingers.

"Yea my name is Nia." She says laughing a little. Nia looks around like shes trying to find someone. "Well I should go I have to find Mark he is supposed to be getting Orange juice." She says smiling at me. Who the fuck is Mark?!

"Oh yea I guess I'll see you around... Nia." I say walking back to my cart putting Micky in. "Bye bye pwetty Nia!" Micky says smiling and waving at her.

Twenty minutes later we are in my Chevelle driving back to the apartment I share with two of my brothers. "Papi I wan teddy!" Mickey says wiggling in his seat.

"Mickey I don't have your teddy remember you left it at home buddy?" I say hopping he doesn't start to cry. "But I wan go mimis" he says with a pouty face. His eyes start to tear up. "Okay papacito we are almost home and then you can get teddy okay?"

Please don't cry, please don't cry! I think. "No, no, no! I wan him now!" Mickey starts to cry and I turn on the radio stopping on the Bruno mars song 'it will rain'
