Before the waves, she was the sweetest girl ever; at least, that's what everyone called her. The smile on her face was normally forced but it was rarely fake. When she cursed her life for being so meaningless, the first wave hit.
That person—the one who smiled, the one who talked, the one who was normal—would never resurface in fear that it would get her killed, and she needed to survive. The remaining memories would only be left to haunt her. Even when the death of her family mentally harmed her, she kept her exterior as strong as possible.
The girl she knew had grown rotten. She never spoke anymore—had become mute—and not because she had no one to speak to.

LOL i know i'm like MANY years late to this but i recently found my book hidden deep in old junk and reread it also nick robinson is one of my fav actors so i made this to cure the fixation this is going to based on both the books and movies (mainly the books) legit have read EVERY ben parish fanfic out there so i needed to write one as i can't find anymore :,) anyways, i hope you enjoy reading this book!
