Chapter 7 : Unburdening

(Randy's POV)

"Ugh!" I groaned as I woke up on the floor. "So...another dream..." I muttered to myself after waking up from another nightmare, this time my father throwing a dumbbell at me, causing me to fall off the bed. "Morning...guys...?" Icy said with a yawn as she slowly opened her eyes while Blossom was still sleeping in her box. "What a way to wake up..." I thought to myself.

I had already been here for two weeks, living with Blossom and Icy. We were already Silver rank now, but I still had no clue about how I arrived or why I was here. Even though I wasn't sure if I'd be returning to my world or not, life with my teammates...life with my new friends was great. We went on missions and adventures together, while I would sneak out on small adventures in the middle of the night to train myself and earn some extra money for our Paradise almost every night...except for the times when Boros caught me at large and forced me to go home with his powerful yawns. "Hey, Randy! I'm done with organizing our stuff!" "Coming!"

"Kuro, it's been two weeks, can't you just forgive her?" Icy asked, to which Kuro replied with an impatient snort. "I told you that I disliked the idea of letting Ivy join us, no way I'm being her friend ever!" he yelled while all of us stared at him. "Hehe, it seems like it's another day that I'm going to be staying here"

"But Ivy, it's not gonna be fair for you if you stay here all the time!" Blossom stated. "Yeah right, because it's either me or her getting stuck here since I'm always with Duff" Kuro grumbled. "How about we switch partners today?" I suggested. "What?" Kuro asked. "Like we switch partners with each other, so both you and Ivy have the chance to go on your adventures or requests"

"Sounds like a nice idea, so Duff...who do you choose?" Kuro asked with a smile. Hoo~hoo~ milady of course" Duff whistled excitedly. "Fuck" Kuro yelled and walked away. "Where's he going?" Blossom asked. "Probably went to cool himself down, so who's staying?"

"I'll be staying!" Blossom exclaimed with a smile. "What...? But Blossom, you're the chief, you can't just stay here" I stated. "Psst...Randy, I think it would be alright since we did leave her here that day for the record" Icy whispered in my ear. "We bought a gummy shop yesterday, didn't we? I want to try out all of the gummies there!" Blossom exclaimed. "Can I pay it a visit later today?" Ivy asked. "Wait...Ivy likes gummies...?" I wondered. "Of course, you can!"

"So Duff and Ivy are going to be in the same group today, while Randy, I, and Kuro will be in the other one" Icy said. "Sounds like a plan...but where's Kuro?" I asked. "I haven't seen him since he left a few minutes ago" Duff replied. "Kuro, it would be a nice time for you to show up right now~" I called out, then a shadow soared over me. "Yes! It's the V-Wave! And the first day of it is electric type!" a voice shouted from above. "Okay...? What in the world is a V-Wave?"

"You don't know?" Duff asked with a confused look. "Wow, what's this in the wind?" Blossom asked as a gentle breeze with a few yellow orbs of light blew toward us. "These orbs...they're so pretty!" Icy said with a sparkle in her eyes while she admired the orbs floating around the place. "Seems like it's this time of the year again"

"Oh...it died down..." Icy said in disappointment as the wind stopped. "It's called the V-Wave, it always begins to blow around this time of the year" Ivy explained. "Normal, fire, water...there's a wave for every kind of pokemon. If the V-Wave that day matches their type, their moves get stronger" Duff added. "Sounds cool!" Blossom exclaimed.

"Isn't that bad for mons that aren't the same type as the wave that day?" Icy asked. "Hehe, you've noticed it. But the V-Wave changes every day during this season, so it's not going to benefit only one type of pokemon...say, it's quite a surprise that you didn't know that Randy" she said to me. "Uh..." I muttered and looked at the others. "I...yeah, of course, I knew it...I just kind of get forgetful sometimes, that's all" I lied, then Duff and Ivy exchanged confused looks with each other. "I probably shouldn't have lied about living here in the first place," I thought to myself.
