Perrie smoothed down her outfit nervously as she waited in the Starbucks her and Jade had agreed to meet at, starting to tap her fingers anxiously on her leg.
She was beginning to think Jade wouldn't come, and to be honest, she wouldn't blame her if she didn't. She'd barely spoken to her before and wasn't even entirely sure herself why she even had this time.
She'd been flinching every time someone walked through the door in case it was her. And then she felt slightly deflated when it wasn't.
However a few minutes later, when Perrie was debating giving up and going home, she saw the small, slightly timid, admittedly rather cute, girl, walk through the door, look around for Perrie and give her cheerful wave when she spotted her.
Perrie smiled widely, despite how late Jade had been, feeling a blush creep onto her cheeks, and had to look down at her coffee to hide it.
"Jade..." she started, as she slid into a seat next to her. "I, um..." she trailed off as she noticed for the first time, how deep and dark the brunette's eyes were. How beautiful they were. She snapped back to reality when Jade tapped her hand. "Perrie? You okay?"
Perrie jumped "Yeah, I'm sorry. I was just about to say, I would've bought you a coffee too, but I didn't know what you'd like so..." This was really a first. Perrie Edwards, known for being bright and bubbly. Always talkative, always chirpy, always willing to chat with anyone and everyone: speechless.
"Oh, well it's a good thing you didn't, because I don't like coffee!" Jade giggled melodically. "I'll order myself some tea. Want anything else while I'm up there?"
Perrie was yet again rendered unable to speak. She'd been planning to pay, not that it was a date! She just thought it would be easier if she payed. And yet she hadn't even offered yet and Jade was already offering to get something for her instead.
"I wouldn't mind a muffin if you're going up. Want me to pay you back?" She asked, already feeling inside her bag for her purse.
"What? No!" Jade laughed. "Pez, they may be slightly overpriced, but they're still not that expensive! Don't bother paying me back!" Jade giggled, skipping to the counter.
'Well there goes my plan of paying for her' Perrie thought.
By the time Jade had recieved her tea and was walking back to their table, Perrie had another thought in her head.
"There you go!" Jade smiled, pushing a muffin across the table to her.
"How did you know I was called Pez?" She asked, taking Jade by surprise.
"I didn't completely...I just heard Leigh call you that once, is it a problem?" She asked, not sounding angry or irritated at all, just more curious and slightly worried shed already angered Perrie.
"No...not at all I just...only my friends call me that." She hummed.
"Are we not friends?" Jade asked then, looking upset and even more worried.
"God of course we are! Jade I didn't mean it like that! Of course we're friends!" Perrie was quick to reassure her. But then why did Jade calling her such a casual nickname feel strange to her? Why did she want her to call her something else. Maybe something more like... she didn't even know.
"Actually just ignore me." She sent Jade a smile. "Call me whatever you want."
Jade raised a questioning eyebrow but decided to drop the subject.
"Pez...want to go out?" She smiled, standing up and reaching out a hand to the blue-eyed blonde.
"Out? Where?" Perrie questioned, taking Jade's hand as each girl noticed how it felt ever so slightly perfect.
"I don't know! Let's just go on a walk! Anywhere!" Jade giggled, her grip on Perrie's hand only tightening as she ran out of the cafe, Perrie having no choice but to run after her.
And, hand in hand, the two girls set off down the street. They may have been planless, but that was the best way to be!
