Ayanokouji POV

Once lunch finished up for the day, afternoon classes were supposed to take place. However, it has instead turned into a two hour long homeroom, as Chabashira-sensei entered the classroom.

"Starting today, classes resume again. However, in the second semester, from September to the beginning of October, we will be holding more physical education classes to prepare for the upcoming Sports Festival. We'll distribute new weekly schedules, so please review them carefully. In addition to the new schedules we'll also distribute materials related to the festival. Students seated in front, please pass handouts to those behind you and so on."

"Alright!!" Sudou shouted with enthusiasm.

"Settle down everyone." Sensei said.

"Sensei, is this another one of the special exams?" Hirata asked.

I assume everyone thought she'd say something like "Of course", but that wasn't the case.

"You're free to interpret it however you wish. In any case, this event will massively impact each and every class."

Those who loathed exercise grumbled, while the rest were excited. If this were an ordinary school we could've found a way to skip the festival, but that's not the case. Since this will affect the class's fate, even the least athletic have to participate.

I briefly looked at Toma-kun, then at his sister, and then I decided to flip over the handout.

"Ayanokouji-kun, here...!" Horikita pointed out.

I flipped to the page she was referring to, and it seemed her excitement, or should I say shock, was something justifiable.

"Some people have noticed this already, but for this year's festival, we're going to divide all students across all grade levels into two groups and have them compete against each other. You Class D are assigned to the Red Team. Class A is also in Red Team, so they will compete alongside you." Chabashira-sensei explained.

(Red Team is Ichinose's class and Ayanokouji's class, while White Team is Sakayanagi's and Ryuuen's. This'll be interesting to write)

"Whoa! Seriously!? We're really doing that?" Ike shouted out.

He might've assumed it would put all four classes against each other like normal, but instead we were divided into two teams. I myself had thought so before I saw it and sensei explained it. This demanded inter-class and year cooperation, which wasn't normal for us.

I wonder how things will turn out.

Over four hundred people were in Gymnasium 1 for the assembly. Instructors, students, even some normal maintenance staff were here. We were, of course, fallen in line with our own classes. Everyone sat on the floor by their respective team colors.

Now this is where Horikita would either shine or fall. With her brother participating in the same team color, as well as the fact that she has this brother complex, it'll depend if she can control her emotions so that she can focus on winning. Looking back at it now. All of their meetings have been initiated by the older Horikita. Our Horikita had never, not even once, tried initiating a conversation or meetup with him.

As the assembled students began causing causing a ruckus, a few students stepped forward. All eyes turned on them.

"I'm Fujimaki from Class A of the third-years. It has been decided that I'll be leading Red Team during this event."

Apparently, Horikita-senpai wouldn't be the one leading Red Team. I assume it's probably because he had other duties to fulfill. I bet the student council don't get breaks even in an event like this. However, it's a lie if I said I wasn't interested in what he'd do.
