It felt like waking up from a daylong sleep.

(Y/N) jolted forward to catch her breath, the feeling of her human body back on every part of her. The bullet still seemed to be placed inside her body, the stain of blood not leaving from her shirt. It all felt overwhelming; from being back to the Earth alive, to still being in the same spot where her death took place.

Marc looked like he was going through the same situation, thrashing in the water before gaining his strength and standing up with droplets of water still soaking his brown curls and face. If (Y/N) hadn't been too busy in stabilizing her breath, it would've left her lungs anyway because of the sight in front of her.

Flashes of her life's memories seemed to appear in her mind, causing her to lean her upper weight to her knees. From her family memories, to the explosion that took the life of her family. The day she met Marc and when she met Steven for the first time after a long time of searching for Marc for a long period of time.

(Y/N) regained her full consciousness again and it seemed like Marc did too. He was about to turn and address her until the familiar white bandages began to wrap themselves around his forearms and shoulders like they were used to, which meant that Khonshu had been freed from being imprisoned in stone.

The chest plate appeared out of thin air and (Y/N) stared in amazement as the entirety of the suit enveloped Marc, and before she could even react, she felt the bullet drop from her chest into the concrete floor and the hollow hole in her chest disappeared like it had never been there before.

"All right," Marc breathed out. "Here we go."

(Y/N) wolf-whistled at the sight of Marc in his Moon Knight suit, and only received a clear of a throat in return as Marc looked back at her with probably raised eyebrows behind that mask. His glowing white eyes stared deep into her, but just like before, she didn't cower away from them.

Marc and (Y/N) walked towards the outside of the tomb, received by the brightness of an Egyptian sunset, one that (Y/N) surely missed too deeply. Marc was in his full white attire, and she was finally free from the everlasting pain from the bullet in her chest, but she didn't know how.

When they stepped into the deep dunes of the desert, (Y/N) was able to spot two tall figures far in the distance, in the edge of a sand mountain. One held a spear while the other held a staff.

(Y/N) grabbed Marc's hand just to be sure. "Is that. . .Khonshu?"

"Yeah," Marc answered, before he paused. "Wait — You can see him?"
