Jaycee’s Point of View:

I woke up the next day, but instead of seeing the mineral color of my beige ceiling walls, I saw a grimy, uneven one. I would have gasped or responded quicker, but I was far too tired to do anything of that nature. Instead, my eyes closed a bit, out of reflex. I was still far too exhausted, but when I shifted to my left, I felt a warm and firm body next to me. That’s when I jumped and pushed myself up. “H-Harry!” I screeched and frantically looked around my setting. It took me a good second to recognize the place that I had been in.

There was a bright light beaming on the inside of the small shack and it almost blinded me. I squinted my eyes and shuttered the light out of my vision. When I shouted his name, Harry jumped up a little, startled by my calls and rubbed his eyes. “Wha – “ he quickly sat up and rubbed his eyes with his very large hands. “Fuck, what time is it?” I didn’t think it was possible for his voice to get any deeper, but I was wrong.

“I should be asking you that.” Hastily, I got up and jerked myself out of his jacket. I headed for the door, but I could hear Harry stumble on behind me. He was still shirtless, but all he did was grab his things and follow along. I was angry – no, furious. He promised to take me home and that no one would ever notice I was gone.

“Jay, wait!” I heard his croaky tone call out for me, but I chose to ignore him. Continuing on my way, my teeth gritted together violently. I could feel my small fists ball up inside my sweater pockets and I have never wanted to hurt anyone more than I wanted to hurt Harry.

My mind was going in a bunch of different directions, but one in particular – what I was going to face when I get home. One of my parents was bound to go up to my room and find me missing. I tried to recall of my actions from last night, things such as how I left and what I had did to cover up my tracks. That’s when I sighed out of relief though because I bluntly remembered that I locked my bedroom door. If they were to knock and I didn’t respond, they’d suspect that I was still sleeping. Plus, I have no classes today, so there wouldn’t be any real reason they would be bothering me this early.

“Jay – please.” I felt his strong hand wrap around my arm and if I didn’t notice any better, he pulled me close to him. Frustrated, I yanked myself away. I suppose my anger was at its peak because it didn’t take much effort to set myself free from him. “Don’t touch me again.” I dared to say as my hazel eyes, once so big, narrowed at him. What I had said must have had some type of effect on him because he didn’t give me his ever so famous ‘cocky smirk’. There was not one bit of arrogant expression on his face. His eyes were cold, but also seemed to be full of remorse.

"It's only 7:30." He spoke, briefly and with his thumb and index finger, I watched as he traced the outlines of his lips. Honestly, once he had said that, I let out a relieving sigh. I was glad it was still so early because now I knew that my parents may not be awake or anything like that.

Even though he had told me the time, I was still frustrated with him. Recently, he was responsible for everything bad happening to me. He was being accused of stealing my money, and now this? It confused me as to what the real reason was behind the fact that he had brought me to this shack. He said he wanted to talk ‘privately’, but we seemed to have enough privacy in the park already. It just didn’t make any sense to me.

My mouth hung open for a little while longer and I yearned for the word to yell at him, but nothing came out. Staying calm around him was no irrelevant and I knew I had to get away from him before I said something I’d regret.

Now, I marched off, but of course – I felt those loud, clasping steps trialing behind me. “Can you not follow me?” Arrogantly, I stated but kept my back to him.
