Nishaan's POV:
I exhaled the smoke while looking up into the sky. I smiled because it felt good. I didn't know when I became fond of cigarettes. I liked them and so did Noah. We even smoked together.
I brought my hand forward to my lips but before my lips could touch it and inhale the toxicity, the cigarette was slapped away from my fingers and a slap landed on my cheek. The impact was so huge that my head was thrown to the right side. My palm caressed my left stinging cheek. It was stinging hard but then the pain faded away.
I met Mr. jackson's threatening - furious eyes. He grabbed my arm tightly and started to drag me.
"Leave me alone," I wiggled.
"Not a word Nishaan! NOT. A . WORD," he commanded. His voice was full of rage and I shut up right away. He opened the door of his car and made me get in. He closed the door and walked to another side as he got in too. I saw uncle Cahill drive away too. He knew I was in good hands. I was happy that he started trusting Mr. Jackson.
Mr. Jackson looked at me and so did I.
"Are you out of your mind?" he raised his voice.
"I smoke, so what?" I said effortlessly like I didn't care. He extended his hand in my direction which caused my eyes to shut tightly as I flinched, I waited for the impact but that didn't happen.
"Open your eyes," his soft voice rang in my ears. I slowly opened my eyes and found him staring at me with a pitiful expression. His hand moved to buckle the seat belt. He didn't say anything and started driving.
"You left without saying yesterday," he spoke. I didn't say anything.
"I asked you something," he glanced at me.
"Eric told me to leave," I replied.
"What? Why would he say that?..."
I shrugged my shoulders.
"What did she say?"
"Go back to your fiance," I mimicked Eric. I felt him take a deep sigh. His grip on the steering wheel tightened.
"Since when did you start listening to other people?" he asked.
"Since when did you start slapping people?" I rolled my eyes.
He didn't say anything except he kept glancing between my cheek and the road. I could see regret in his eyes but that didn't mean he had the right to slap me.
"It just feels normal, you know!" I smiled as I rested my head back.
"What?"
"I'm used to getting slaps," I started counting on my fingers as I counted.
"...First my dad, then my mum, then Chris - my ex, Then Ryan - also my ex, Then Noah,..." I turned to his side. "... than you." I smiled.
"Woah, six!" I exclaimed.
"Guess, I am a bad...bad girl," I laughed.
"Noah slapped you?" he hit the brakes and looked at me furiously. I didn't say anything but stared at the road.
"Just drive," I said annoyingly. It was all the same. I turned my head to the window side. He took my silence as an answer. Soon he started driving again. I wondered if my life would remain the same in the future. If yes, then I simply don't want to live. I thought.
I didn't realize when I was consumed by the dark but I fell asleep in the car.
