Brenda***
I sat there fiddling with the proposal ring I had been given at Jeremiah's funeral.
"Brenda ?" I heard Kam's soft voice.
"Yes honey come right on in"
My room door opened and Kam was smiling softly in my direction.
"Family should be on their way now, I just wanted to check if you was okay"
"Yeah yeah..." I paused. "Yeah I'm fine, let's go"
"Brenda..."Kam traced.
"I'm. . . I'm not okay "
I burst into tears and Kam ran to my side holding me and wiping my tears.
"I miss him Kam, I know yall miss him too, I just ... I miss him"
She cradled me as the tears continued to come.
"It's okay Brenda I promise you we riding out together"
After a crying session we fixed ourself up and went downstairs where the family was.
