Deklan and I continued to stand in embrace for a moment longer, until Deklan let go.
D: I think we should go for a walk, what do you say?
He asked me, putting an arm around my shoulder.
T: I say that sounds like a good idea
Deklan looked down at me, a smile lightly beaming across his face. I reciprocated and looked at him, staring deeply into his eyes.
Deklan looked down and put his hand intertwined with mine, and then looked back at me, as if making sure he had my permission. He did.
He lead us out of the alleyway and down the dimly lit streets, I felt so secure in his hand, his touch sent warmth through my entire body. This felt like a dream, yet I was wide awake.
T: Any idea where we are going?
As I asked, I had leaned my head up and slightly to the left so he could hear me with ease.
D: I have the perfect spot
T: Do tell then
D: No way, I have told you enough for one night
He chuckled.
We walked up the hills on the south side of town, I was a bit out of breathe but Deklan was going strong; as usual.
The lights were still dimly lit, the roads a rough concrete, and the occasional car passing by every now and then.
After around forty minutes, Deklan said
D: It's down the end of this road...
My mind pondered to what was at the end of the road,
T: I'll race you there!
I said, as I gripped onto his hand tighter and the two of us ran down the road without a care in the world!
When we got to the end of the street we were greeted with a house.
"Where are we Deklan?"
D: My childhood home
T: Oh, wow!
D: Yeah, my parents decided not to sell the house when they moved to Perth. We can stay here tonight, if you want to, that is.T: Well I most certainly don't want to camp anymore
I giggled.
Deklan walked us to the door and delicately let go of my hand to unlock the door
"Ladies first" he told me, gesturing for me to walk inside.
I curtsied comedically before walking side. Deklan took his jacket off as he walked in.
D: I'm surprised you didn't get cold while walking here
T: Oh I did, I just wanted to prove you wrong
I shrugged,
D: What? You dumbass! If I had have known you were cold I would have insisted you take my jacket!
T: I guess the crab linguine took a toll on my judgement
D: It took a toll on my wallet too
Deklan mumbled while rolling his eyes.
Deklan then went on to give me a tour of his family home, I loved it, and it had the most incredible view of the ocean!
After the house tour by Deklan, we went into the main bedroom and laid down together to discuss plans for our upcoming intentions.
D: Don't worry, Tianah, as soon as you fall asleep I will go and sleep downstairs in the spare room
T: Okay, not you acting all gentlemanly
D: Yeah whatever... anyways, back to the matter at hand
T: Yes!
D: Yes, we aren't going to be able to do this alone.
D: We may need to go back to Perth to recruit some of our associates, that way we have backup
T: But like, who would willingly join a gang, Deklan?
D: Have you met the people who go to K-College? They would jump the chance to prove they are worthy of a gang, even the ones who allegedly have common sense... If you really want, you could invite someone too.
I thought for a moment, I would love for Holly to come but is it worth putting her in danger? I deliberated for a moment more before deciding on my answer, yes!
T: Can I invite Holly?
D: I don't see why not, the more help we have the better... I am planning on inviting three friends; Toby, Travis and Mohammed.
T: Solid, so there'll be six of us?
D: Correct.
D: We can stay here for a few nights and then we can catch a bus or something back to Perth.
T: I really like the sound of that
Deklan gave me a look of reassurance, and continued to give me some more details on the plan, and also told me some cool stories about his childhood home. It was nice to see this side of him again, it gave me a nostalgic sense, reminding me of how things used to be during our time together at school. Never a faulty moment in this man's eyes, he was the exact same as he had always been.
We stayed up for quite awhile, talking and laughing, all of the above. Eventually I drifted off and Deklan being the gent that he is, did keep true to his word and went downstairs to sleep in the spare room. Sleeping was no longer a struggle when I had Deklan's guard to make me feel shielded and safe.
