Silence in the sound

Chapter Thirteen

Deklan and I enjoyed  a few days to ourselves in Albany, we went on walks everyday and just talked about fun things! We acted totally platonic. Eventually we knew we had to go back and the sooner to better, so that we could devise a plan without Deklan's gang catching on. 

I packed my belongings the night before we left and I made sure to get a good night sleep before so that I would feel refreshed. 

The next morning came and Deklan and I walked down to the bus station, ready for our little trip back to the big city. 

D: Are you ready?

Deklan asked me, and the question sort of, hit me.

T: I'm not sure...

D: Why? 

He asked me, with concern in his eyes

T: It's just, it's finally happening...

Deklan shot me a quick smile before turning his attention to the ticket person for the bus,

"Row 17 please!" The ticket person told Deklan, near the end of the bus but not too far back.

"Thanks bro" Deklan said politely. 

Deklan and I got onto the bus, he gave me the window seat, closing me in between the side of the bus and him. 

Deklan handed me his phone, 

T: What's this about?

D: Do you want to tell Holly that you're on your way home?

My mind lit up, my eyes lit up and a smile formed on my face within a second.

I had memorised my dearest friend's phone number, and gave her a call

T: HOLLY

H: Tianah?

T: I'm coming to Perth today

H: Wait really?

T: YES

H: Oh cool

T: Can you meet me at the bus stop when I get there, I am with Deklan

H: Yep all goods just text me the time then I will see you and your boy toy there

Holly said with a laugh before hanging up on me. She was such a good friend!

The bus ride was alright, I slept through most of it and according to Deklan I snored alot... Oops.

He found it really endearing!

I also found out that while sleeping my head made it's way to Deklan's left shoulder. He didn't mind though, and allowed me to have my rest. I eventually woke up and lifted my head from his shoulder.

D: Yo, how did you sleep, Tianah?

T: Yeah good hey

The rest of the bus ride went by quickly, Deklan focused his attention to sudoku puzzles and I mostly looked out the window. Deklan was academic like that.

Eventually, the bus arrived and Deklan and I arrived in Perth and the anticipation to see my friend was getting to me. I made my way off the bus and saw Holly in the distance, she was standing with a tall guy but in that moment I paid no attention to him and just ran over to Holly.

TI: Holly!!

H: Tianah!

TO: I'm here too you know

I looked over to see a sassy Toby standing next to Holly, he had his arms crossed and was looking in Deklan's direction, flashing him a grin. 

I didn't expect to see Toby there but I later found out that Deklan had asked him to come.

The four of us stood in a circle and caught up on what we had all been up to lately, and Toby invited us all the stay at his house so Deklan could discuss the plan. I somehow convinced Holly into my devious plan and she unhappily obliged. 

Toby invited the three of us to stay at his house so we could devise a plan for our gang overthrow.

D: What about Travis and Mohammed?

TO: I already told them mate, don't you worry

Toby said, Deklan was a bit confused how he already knew but then realised Holly had probably been gossiping with him while he was speaking with me. 

We all made our way to Toby's house, where Travis and Mohammed were waiting for us.

M: Yuh! I'm ready to beat some ass GANG man style

We all went silent, because Mohammed is cringe

M: Bro, where is the APREE-SHI-ATION??

TO: Up my ass

Toby said rolling his eyes

TO: I'm only here cause Deklan told me if I helped him, he would pay for my footy tickets next season...

H: You think you got it bad, Toby? Tianah forced me here... AGAINST MY WILL!!!

TI: I wouldn't say "against you will"

Holly looked at me as if to say "Yeah, right".

Banter between the group continued, until Deklan quietened down all of us and explain what had been the recent turn of events, and that we needed to overthrow his gang!
We all listened attentively and made sure to take in what was being said, ensuring there was no room for error. 

Afterwards the group and I just vibed, it was refreshing. After being stuck with the gender bended Marge Simpson for so long, I didn't realise how much I craved talking to other people.

It was such a good night and it'll always be a core memory of mine!
