Sitting in the cold, hard seats in my school gym waiting for my name to be called was nerve-wrecking. This is the moment where I will finally be free. I have been anticipating this moment for a while now. It is almost here. I look to my left and see Jacob already looking at me a few seats left from me. We smile at each other.

"Jacob Collins" Principal Jonson called. Jacob looked at me and smiled nervously before getting up. When he got up to the stage Principal Jonson gave Jacob a firm handshake, a medal then his diploma. They posed for a few seconds so people can take pictures. When Jacob returned to his seat Principal Jonson called a few more names before calling mine.

"Alison Skyler Evans" Principal Jonson called. I smiled at Jacob and made my way to the stage. The principal greeted me with a handshake and handed me a medal and my diploma.

"Congratulations" he says to me.

"Thank you." I replied.

We posed for a few seconds for people to take pictures. No one is here for me, I realized. A sudden feel of loneliness hit me but I faked a smile anyways and made my way to my seat.

The next two hours were a blur. There were students going up to get their diplomas, there were many boring speeches which I zoned out in and some videos and pictures being shown on a slideshow of the graduates these past four years on a large screen. There were a few pictures of me but not many, I was mostly hiding my face or in the background. I haven't done much these past four years in high school, which now I am beginning to regret. When it was all over I met Jacob in the parking lot beside his car.

"Are you ready beautiful?" He asked with a big smile on his face.

"Yes I am. All I need to do now is pick up my suitcase than I'll head to your house."

"Perfect, I will meet you there." He leaned over and softly kissed me.

"I will see you in a bit. Bye"

"Bye." I replied.

That was the last time I saw Jacob Collins.

As soon as I got home the first thing I realized was that all the lights were off. I put my keys in the lock and turn to unlock it. As I get in I look around the house to see if he's home, which he is not. That is one less thing I have to worry about. When I get to my room I collapse on my bed from exhaustion. It was such a long day. I look in my little purse for my phone but I cannot find it. Where is it? Did I lose it? Wait no. I must have dropped my phone when I was sneaking the keys out of my dad's pocket.

I run downstairs to retrieve my phone. I look around the small, dark living room. I looked on the dark brown couch and beneath the dirty sofa cushions and under the couch. I pace around the room then spot my phone on the small coffee table. My phone is unlocked and on my Imessage. I read the messages from Jacob and realize that my father must have been texting Jacob. After the last text I sent Jacob I saw a few other messages that I did not send.

Jacob: I will meet you at my house my love.

Me: Wherez ur house?

Jacob: Are you okay Alison?

Jacob: The address is 54 Old Crest avenue.

Jacob: I'll see you there baby

Jacob: Ali?

Jacob: I love you.

My dad is obviously still drunk judging by the way he was texting. Hopefully he got stopped by the cops so that I will be able to get to Jacob on time before anything happens. My head starts pounding. Oh my god. What? No. I can't believe this. What if something happened to him? What if he is hurt? What if my dad hurt him or even worse killed him. I run out of the house without even bothering to close the door. I get in my car and drive as fast as I possibly can. It takes me all of 4 minutes to get to Jacob's house and in the mean time I kept worrying about Jacob's well-being.
