I'm having a nightmare, no I'm living one as the monster crawls closer and closer, taunting me by calling my name. I cringe and curl up against myself even more, resting my face against my knees, my back still along the wall. I'm hoping against hope that some force would end this. My hero lays stretched out before me, my only chance, dead to the world.
He is now mere millimeters away, his sickening breath forms a cloud around my head. I try to drown the reality out with memories. If I don't live it, I can at least pretend like it didn't happen, right?
