"What? What does that have to do with anything? I'm a genetic mutation, I've got red hair, look at my green eyes. These alleles aren't suppose to exist, but they mutated. It doesn't mean I don't have a muse."

"Yours is a simple mutation, no real affect. Mine, not so much . . ."

"How is it different?"

"Well when I was in ninth grade, I  found out . . ."

"Wait, isn't that when you became all antisocial? Is that why, because you're a mutation?"

"Yeah, I was told that mutations, while rare, hardly end up with someone. I was in ninth grade when I thought I met my muse. It was Shannon, Shannon Burkes. I bumped into her accidently one day and I saw color. I was shocked and I tapped her and asked her if she saw color too. She told me no and gave me a look of disgust. You see, if I were normal, Shannon would of seen color, but she didn't. She still has yet to find her muse. I won't have one."

"Then how come I saw color?"

"That's the thing. The first time I really got anywhere close to you, my color faded and it came back, but this time, it was so much brighter. I didn't even have to touch you and I knew that you'd also be my muse. I don't know why you saw color, but I can't be your muse. You'll probably have it fade back to grey or it might stay in color and when you meet your muse, the intensity will increase. I'm sorry, I really am. I just don't want you to get you hopes up on a mistake like me."
