Luz slowly waltzed into the darkened gym, the only dim light emanating from a far-off window in the far right. Her shoes clacking against the gymnasium floor, much to Amity's dismay.
She really hadn't stopped thinking about her encounter with the Latina. The shortness of breath, her sweet and intoxicating smell, it all overpowered her rational thinking.
"Nice of you to join me," The purple haired which remarked, her hair flowing slightly as she glared at the other girl.
Luz merely smiled sheepishly, "Yeah..I sort of had.." Her voice trailed off as she seemed to sense the bored expression from Amity before confirming it.
She silently walked over towards one of the many boxes, streamers inside of many different colors. She looked up puzzled.
"Where is the ladder? How're we gonna put this up?.." The girl scratched at her head, her expression frozen into confusion.
Amity merely looked her way, wordlessly grabbing her wand and chanting a few words before the streamers magically appeared on every gym wall.
The shorter girl stared in pure awe. "That's so cool!" She smiled as she looked over at Amity, making the other's heart beat significantly faster.
In record time, Amity Blight turned around, her hair whipping through the air with the motion. She couldn't allow the feelings to bubble up, not more than they already had. She didn't even know the stupid human that well, for crying out loud.
The witch apprentice stood transfixed as she continued to put things up the way Amity had shown her. After she was done putting up a few pieces of decor, she stood back and admired her work for she had done it all impeccably. She grinned.
"We still have to do more," Amity grimly mumbled as she cast a glance towards Luz, pretending to be more interested in the boxes set down on the shining wood floors.
Although the stares and consistent sneaked glances did not go unnoticed by the human. They were more than noticed, they were reciprocated.
Unfortunately, Amity was much too busy in her facade to notice it, and Luz was starting to get tired of the clear ever-growing tension between them.
"Amity." The taller girl turned around quickly, her expression soft then hardening as though remembering she had to keep up her acting.
"Yes, human?" Her voice rigid and cold bounced off the walls of the spacious room.
"Do you think I really can do this," Luz's voice cut off as she bit on her lip slightly with worry, "-the whole becoming a witch thing?"
Amity's acting was soon forgotten as she placed herself next to the beautiful girl, settling down with her legs crossed on the floor. Luz turned to look at her, lip still being bitten in worry or frustration.
"Of course. I think it'll be difficult but, if anyone can..I think it will be you.." The lavender haired beauty averted her gaze slightly as she smiled.
Luz stared back, scooting closer, "I think that's the nicest thing you've said to me all of these months."
Amity's ears reddened, her face flushed with guilt. The Hispanic slowly turned away, her gaze falling onto the boxes left untidied and half empty.
"I'm sorry," The young Blight's eyes shown with a warm kind of affection as she stared directly into her humans eyes.
Luz averted her gaze from the floor, back to her, "I know about the way you look at me..."
The young witch's heart felt as though it had become a drum, beating rapidly. Her face was impassive, pretending not to care and her hands sweated with nerves.
"I look at you the same way, I always have but..You just never let up the act, huh?" Luz raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing at her lips at Amity's flushed look.
The young witch merely stayed silent as she leaned onto Luz's shoulder, her heart beating significantly slower but still at a faster pace than usual.
She closed her eyes and finally, after all these months, felt the hatred and jealousy drain out of her system. She had failed to see the other girl for who she was, adorable and sweet and a loving dork. She smiled slightly at the thought.
She felt warm lips touch on her forehead, a whispered confession, "I like you a lot, My stubborn little witch. I know you do too." Luz sighed happy, believing that her love had been asleep but whether she had or not, would not have changed her words.
She felt content at the realization when the next Monday morning she found a post it note pinned to her desk along with a ring pop. Amity's note having said I believe this is a human item, I hope I'm not mistaken in its romantic manner. Meet me at 5 at Atticus' diner.
Amity had asked her out on a date. She chuckled and shook her head in amusement as she mouthed a yes, and winked in Amity's direction by the window sill.
