"Forty Three"

Cadence's POV

I woke up and instantly remembered what Sam and I did last night.

I smiled at the thought.

"what are you smiling at?" Sam says in his raspy morning voice, that is to die for.

"just us." I say.

"what about us?"

"just everything. how I went so far away from you and all along you were the one for me."

"I know babe."

"so what does this make us?"

"umm. what do you want to be? friends?"

"no. more than friends."

"I can make that happen."

I smile and get out of bed. I go to the bathroom and did my morning routine.

I walked out and Sammy was changing. I stop and stare.

"you like what you see?" he asks scaring me.

"what? no.. okay fine. yeah."

"I thought so." he says and pulls me to him.

he puts his forehead on mine and kisses my nose.

I smile and kiss his lips.

"let's go eat, yeah?"

"yeah."

we walk downstairs and Zoe and Matt smirk at us.

"what?" I said.

"Oh nothing. it's just-" Zoe starts.

"ohh Sammy....harder.....babeee"

"oh my gosh. you heard that?"

"yeah. it was very disrupting to my sleep." Zoe says.

"oh whatever." Sammy says.

"I say we go on a road trip to my house." I say.

"yesss." they all agree.

"we leave after breakfast. and switch drivers when one gets sleepy." Sammy says.

I pack a few days of clothes and we get ready and leave.

"where are you guys going?" Gilinsky says.

"to Omaha." Sammy says.

"can we go?"

Sammy looks at me and I give him a please no look and he says "I think it would be best if you stayed here. we will be back in a few days."

"well then."

"let's go." I say.

when we get in the jeep I tell Sammy thanks.

we start driving and I look back at Zoe and matt and they are sorta cuddled together in the back seat.

I smile and kiss sammys hand.

I haven't been this happy since... forever.
